Location very pleasant. Property itself is very tired. Our room was spacious and clean. However, when on, the radiator sounded like a rushing river! My wife tried to close the curtain which promptly fell from its mounting. We ate on the Saturday evening and the food was spectacularly average and, that’s being diplomatic! One member of our party ordered cheese and biscuits and decaffeinated coffee, only to be told the hotel had run out of both. The old adage ‘you get what you pay for’ sums up Bowden Hall. The great positive was the members of staff who were very efficient, friendly and a credit to the organisation. It’s a great shame they don’t have the support of the company they deserve.

The issues you describe are not the standard we aim to provide. A noisy radiator and a curtain coming away from its fittings should never occur in a prepared room, and our maintenance team has now been in and fixed the issues. We are also disappointed to read about your dining experience. Running out of menu items and delivering an average meal is not acceptable, and we have shared your comments with our kitchen and service teams so we can address both stock control and food quality. Thank you again for your balanced comments, especially your praise for the staff. Absolutely awful stay 1.room dirty found dust and stains on carpet and dirt 2. Bulbs flickering so just had to turn off 3.curtain rail falls off every time you close them 4. Shower is either boiling hot or freezing cold 5.toilet flush is broke so when you flush it won’t stop for 5 mins 6.door key wouldn’t work on two occasions so had to wait and get new key 7.neighbours had extremely loud music at 12am complaned to reception who came and nicked on there door and left the music carried on til 1am 8.tv only had about 5 Chanel’s as no signal This was a getaway for me and my wife for Valentine’s Day and how you describe the hotel is completely false advertising. I seriously expect some for of compensation and my money back for the worst hotel stay

Excellent stay and noticed how good the staff were, friendly, professional and helpful. Only complaint the room was slightly dated and a faulty shaving mirror but large and spacious.
