We found the firm mattresses used by this hotel to be very uncomfortable. The two rooms we stayed in were above a ventallation system which was very loud and constantly on and for us made the rooms horrible to be in.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary, when we arrived we were upgraded to the privilege room which was lovely. We hired a lakeside pod which was such a beautiful experience, the food was amazing and was very quaint and unique. The breakfast in the morning was delicious with lots of variety. We will definitely stay again.

Staff were excellent. Everything else, not so much. First room smelled badly of drains. Thankfully we were moved to another room without any fuss. This smelled ok and was perfectly clean but was decades overdue a makeover. The heater didn't work, cold air only. The bed was comfy enough, but clearly wasn't made to fit the headboard on the wall. Lighting was dreadful, cheap dimmer switches with non-dimmable lights. The decor, particularly in the bathroom was very old, lots of paint peeling off the door etc. and an old defunct loo roll holder left on the wall despite being replaced. Restaurant menu wasn't at all inspiring and was expensive for the quality of food on offer. The merlot was borderline undrinkable. Chips and 'crispy' parmentier potatoes were anything but crispy, I'd guess just warmed in the oven. Salmon pretty dry. Waiting staff were lovely, but managers seem most intent on clearing away tables at 8.40pm as if they were in a hurry to get home which isn't a great look. Breakfast was good ! Overall, a shame that such a great building is being wasted on a mediocre offering.
