Clean and well managed with friendly and helpful staff. Our room had a comfortable bed However, the fan was very noisy and did little to cool the room. The window only opened a small amount to aid any ventilation. We doubt we would stay again because of the lack of a lift and as our room was on the top floor with access via steep stairs meant we had to limit the number of times we went back to our room. It seemed that most of the rooms were accessed via stairs.

Customer service was excellent, all the staff we came across were friendly and attentive. We even met Biscuit the cat! The room was spacious and comfortable. My only gripe is that the fourth floor room we were in was quite hot given the recent heatwave. While there was a fan, it seemed to push the hot air around more than anything. I’d suggest a portable air conditioning unit until there’s an opportunity for a full refurb.

Nice location. Setting is lovely and nice grounds to walk the dog. Room was big (I booked a superior room). Bed was comfortable. Very dog friendly. Visited at the end of the heatwave and the lack of air conditioning was a challenge for sleeping. Dinner was terrible. Had grilled fish and Hunters Chicken and both were over cooked, tough, dried out and disappointing. One of the worst meals I have had for several years. My wife is Gluten intolerant and almost all the items on the menu were not available to her. Just the fish for the main course. I found the breakfast buffet to be very good. Overall, the hotel was tired and did not meet my expectations of a 4 star hotel. I think 3 stars is more reflective of the qualify of the rooms and food.
