We returned to this hotel on this visit to Salisbury as its central, has good parking and is reasonably priced. The room was pleasant and we enjoyed our stay although I expect a refurbishment can’t be far away for this ageing property. I hope so - it could be amazing.

Have stayed at this hotel a number of times in the past. Generally the room was clean but in need of some TLC. There was a light bulb hanging down in the bathroom and the thumb turn on the bathroom door came off in my sons hand and would have been locked in if I were not in the room to let him out.

Hotel is located well and in the centre of Salisbury, staff were nice and helpful. My main complaint would be with the cleanliness of the room, we were given the very large room with a four poster bed and 3 large windows, however the room smelt very dusty and I assume that none of the curtains/drapes had been cleaned in some time, in the current climate, cleanliness is very very important so this would put me off returning to the hotel

Generally pleased. The staff were very welcoming and obliging. Our room was big and the bed comfortable. However the decor was dull; a splash of colour would make all the difference.

There was drilling and banging in the night. On top of that, our room was right next to some kind of ventilation which made an ongoing loud humming sound. The room itself was smaller than the picture shown when booking, the room was very dirty and extremely dusty, the kettle was broken, and the bath towels left fluff all over. Will not be visiting again.

Stayed for 3 nights, all the staff were excellent, very disappointed with our room(220),torn net curtain,tile hanging off the wall in WC,both windows in desperate need of painting, no hairdryer ,towel rail heater didn't work.

Dear sir Mercure Hotel Salisbury For many years now I have been a member of the Accor loyalty programme (3…7170) and have had good or great service across a range of brands, from Ibis up to Novotel. We stayed at the Mercure White Hart Salisbury from Friday June 24th to Monday June 28th. Before I explain the problems let me say the housekeeping staff were very good, the room was cleaned and left spotless each day, and they are a credit to the hotel and to Mercure. On checking in it appeared that they had lost my reservation for dinner on Sunday night, so we had to re-book Saturday breakfast offering was very poor. Cartons of fruit juice made from concentrate and basic yoghurts in a small fridge. Individual packets of cereal dropped into bowls. Coffee which was strong and bitter. A selection of cooked items which did not include any fish, just what is commonly called a Full English Breakfast, but with no fried bread or black pudding When the waitress arrived she had no idea who had ordered which dish. The waiter had to be reminded of our croissant order and, when it arrived, we had to request butter. There were no conserves offered. Saturday night we had to put up with a wedding party being held outside our bedroom window, and the doors to the room it was held in were left open and the insistent noise of the bass on the disco music meant we found it hard to sleep. Why a wedding party had disco music when dancing is currently not allowed is another mystery. The hotel was not full so were we were allocated such a room? We could have complained at the time but what would have been the result? We had no desire to be moved from our rooms at night, and we did not want to cause an upset to the wedding party on their special day. Whoever allocated the room to us did not think about it fully. Sunday breakfast was a repeat of Saturday , except this time the waitress came to take the order with no pen, and brought just one croissant when we asked for 2 After this we decided to cancel our booking for Sunday dinner as we were convinced it would not be a good experience. This was confirmed that evening when we went to the bar for our welcome drink, and the barman told me it was only one welcome drink for the two of us. I had to turn the voucher over and show him quite forcefully the small print. I wonder how many other guests he has denied the second welcome drink to. On arriving for our Monday breakfast the waitress asked if it was our first breakfast, and when we said no she told us we did not need a menu then. We corrected her on that and asked for menus, when to our surprise it was different from the previous two days. A plate of fruit had been added, and we commented on that she said it was because people had complained and it had been added. It is worth pointing out that there was no continental breakfast offered, no cold meat, no rolls, nothing which could be considered a continental breakfast Our whole experience is well below what we have come to expect from Accor. Between us my wife and I have over 70 year’s of work in the hotel industry, and at times we cringed at how embarrassing this stay was. I hope that you can bring this hotel back to the standard expected of a Mercure, but in future we plan to avoid any hotels carrying the brand names of the Accor group unless they are company owned and run. If we cannot find this information out easily from the websites we will simply go elsewhere,

The hotel was well placed for seeing the main sights in Salisbury. It also had easy access to the routes in and out of the city. All the staff we had dealings with were friendly and helpful . Any issues were dealt with promptly and efficiently like no plug in the bathroom sink..The dinner menu was limited but the food was delicious. A good break away..
