We went to Salisbury for a few days and we wanted somewhere close to the centre. The White Hart was certainly that. The room was quite large and the bed was very comfortable. Our room was at the back of the hotel so quite away from the main roads so was very quiet and peaceful. The room had all of the amenities that you could need, a safe, a fridge and a coffee machine. We didn't eat or have a drink in the hotel so I can't comment on the catering or bar. Perhaps the instructions for the heating system should be somewhere other than underneath the hair dryer, as working out where the on off switch was difficult. Also please note that there is no lift in the hotel. We were on the second floor and so had to carry our suitcase up two flights of stairs, though the receptionist did offer to get someone to do that for me. We had a good stay and would definitely stay there again

The Mercure is a great location for wandering round Salisbury, handy for the cathedral and the town. Parking for residents is £7 for 12 hours which is helpful so when you check out you can still spend sometime in town. The staff are all lovely and very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. We had a splendid enormous room - 126 - which has a balcony stretching along the frontage of the hotel. The only downside was we couldn’t get the room to heat up, even having the thermostat on 23 degrees, and the shower was very poor - no power and not above lukewarm.
