Dear Mr S., Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I was very disappointed to read of the issues you experienced and would like to offer my sincere apologies. Firstly, I am particularly sorry that your sleep was disturbed during the early hours of Saturday morning. Having specifically requested and been allocated a quiet room, you were understandably entitled to expect a restful night's sleep. The level of noise you describe, including shouting, loud laughter, running in the corridor and repeated door slamming, is unacceptable. Whilst our team should always respond promptly to reports of disruptive behaviour, it is clear that on this occasion we failed to provide the peaceful environment our guests deserve, and for this I sincerely apologise. I was equally concerned to learn of the condition of your room. The issues you have highlighted, including the stained and worn carpet, separated bed base, poor mattress quality, blocked sink, window maintenance problems, damaged furniture and collapsed chair, do not reflect the standards we strive to maintain. Furthermore, your comments regarding the rough bath towels and the cleanliness of the staircase banisters have been shared with both our Housekeeping and Maintenance teams for immediate investigation and corrective action. I am also sorry that your breakfast experience was disappointing. We recognise how frustrating delays can be, particularly during busy periods. Your comments regarding the reliability of the hot beverage machine and the layout of the hot buffet area have been noted and will be reviewed as part of our ongoing efforts to improve the guest experience. Next week we are starting upgrades to our bedrooms including the room that you stayed in, which i am confident will ensure feedback is better from future guests. On arrival the receptionist confirmed that we had been allocated the requested quiet room, but on Saturday night we were awoken at 3.07am by raucous laughter, shouting, running up and down the corridor and repeated door slamming which went on for over an hour. Given that this noise must have been evident in the reception area, why was it not stopped immediately as guests were obviously sleeping? In addition the room was most unsatisfactory, with threadbare & stained carpet, divan bed base that had become separated, poor quality mattress, blocked sink, very rough bath towel, badly maintained window that would not shut properly, worn furniture, chair seat that had collapsed. The stair bannisters in the public area were very sticky and clearly had not been cleaned. In the breakfast room there was only one coffee/tea machine which constantly broke down, the hot food area could only be accessed by one guest at a time (which was extremely unsatisfactory given there was a large party in the breakfast room at the same time).

Booked in went to room. Cables hanging out of TV. Safe did not work as no battery in. Put kettle on came out from shower it did not turn itself off so handle was burning hot. The room was cold spoke with reception who turned thermostat up to 32 but did not work until complained next day and it was changed to allow us to put the heating on. Ate in the restaurant on the 1st night and the food was bland and unappealing. I requested extra bread with my soup and was told I could not have anymore.

Double room 122. The door was very stiff to move on entering but much more difficult to open from the inside, requiring two hands and a hefty pull to move it, some smaller/older people might have had real problems. The overall impression of the room was shabby accentuated by the poor state of the woodwork on the windows, cracked panes of glass (bedroom and bathroom), a view of a large pipe running across the roof directly in front of the window, evidence of moth eaten carpets and the presence of live moths. The staff were generally helpful and pleasant.

We were pleased to have been upgraded to a lovely apartment on the ground floor which was ideal for me as I often need to use a large walker. That bit was great. I was initially rather unsure cos of the distance outside away from the lo by and dining area. Sadly I did find that not well provided for: the path was uneven, the passage way to the car park was narrow and difficult to negotiate with the walker and the lighting g was poor. In that passage way as you come from the hotel it is almost flat on to the car bay area, but just a few meters along it became a kerb with no warnings on the edge. The apartment was lovely and very convenient for the town and the cathedral. Sadly the dishwasher did not work. A lovely lady came to look at it and found lots of water still in it and so was beyond her remit. Then we lost all hot water completely! That was sorted while we out the same evening. On the whole we had a fabulous break and would look to book an apartment again. Lots to really like about the White Hart but attention to detail would make it sing!

Breakfast and dinner excellent. Staff wonderful. I couldn't lock my door....room 137.....part missing inside the door. I did feel vulnerable and put a chair and suitcase behind the door to make it difficult for anyone to enter.

Made last minute booking for room with double bed. The hotel was extremely well located for my visit to the city center. The room was somewhat disappointing. Very small with one side of bed pushed against the wall and still not a lot of room to move around or to store luggage. Bed itself was not very comfortable with old style lumpy spring mattress. Bathroom was ok, but limited counter space. Room was on upper floor only accessible by staircase. What was good, the cleanliness of room and common areas was very good. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Paid parking is available at the hotel.

We were very pleased to be allocated a new one-bedroom apartment with sitting room/kitchen, which were very comfortable and had everything we needed. Located in a building of six apartments at the far end of the hotel’s car park, it was quiet most of the time and didn’t hear or see anyone else, which was great!. A nice touch to have soft drinks cans in our fridge (and hot drinks to make) after a long journey; and could be replaced when needed. The beds were comfortable and the walk-in shower was perfect for our needs. Would have liked a full-length mirror, and a shelf in the shower and one by the sink for our own toiletries though. The Hotel Reception staff were very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to assist us, which was very much appreciated, thank you.

We enjoyed our 2 nights. Check in and check out was simple. Our room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean. We had breakfast and the breakfast room was lovely and quiet, with no unnecessary background music. The hot and cold food selection was perfectly adequate and the view over the garden was lovely. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and they looked happy to be working there. The location couldn't have been more central. Only a short walk to the cathedral and shops. Only a mile from Salisbury Railway Station. It is always lovely when returning to your room to find the beds had been made and the room tidied. Something simple, but very undervalued. It was lovely sitting in the lounge by reception before we made our way home. I know we weill definitely return.

Spent 12 weeks in the hotel apartments. The friendly and accommodating staff managed to keep me in the same apartment for the full stay. The apartment itself is modern, well equipped and very comfortable. So much more pleasant than just staying in a normal hotel room as the ability to cook and relax on a sofa is a massive win in my eyes. The cleaning staff are fast and efficient. The courtyard is a lovely place to sit and have a meal or a few drinks and the location of the hotel is excellent. The main reason I would choose this establishment in salisbury over another is the staff. They are all unbelievably helpful, friendly, professional and have made a 12 week stay more homely than others I have frequented in the past.

The apartment we had was absolutely lovely, the staff were great and the location perfect. Unfortunately, we had to leave at 3am in the morning to return home for an emergency so did not get to enjoy the morning in the apartment nor the breakfast so are a little sad.

Excellent Location & very good staff. Ideal central Salisbury location. very friendly staff at reception & in dining room/bar . Room was fine - possibly a little tired in terms of decor (also not enough plug sockets for everything - so the fridge remained unplugged!) but perfectly serviceable for what we needed.
