Good location, staff were helpful re late check-in. Room was fine. Only problem was the high cost for a basic hotel stay, albeit noting that this seems typical for Bristol and in this context the amount wasn't too bad.

Our booking was for one night, standard double room. The location of the hotel was fantastic, staff were nice enough but our room was disappointing. The shape and size was unusual, the floor was laminate flooring that was dusty, the room was dated and the bed was really uncomfortable - we had a very poor nights sleep.

The hotel was very comfortable and the room large enough but we ate an evening meal there and the fish and chips was inedible. Clearly frozen and heated up but very badly. French fries were crisp (all the way through) and the fish was hard inside. My curry was O.K. but the naan bread was hard.

And the Bristol to Bath cycle route. I like the minimalist decor of the rooms, though could do with a bit more light on the non-bed side of the room. Barman a bit grumpy about drinks from the bar at 10.30pm, but otherwise front of house staff helpful, and we had an enjoyable stay.

Room smelled awful, like a musty damp and mould smell. Bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever experienced. Had to make a makeshift mattress topper out of my pillows and use a towel as a pillow. Had to request my tv remote and a bath mat from reception which was bizarre. Breakfast which I had to pay extra for as it was not included was all over cooked and so over salted that it was stinging my tongue so I left it. All in all a really bad experience.

Room lacks basic amenities. Only three pillows for two of us instead of two each. No waste bin for the room and the bathroom bin was open top (no lid) so not very hygienic at all. Two bath towels but no hand towel The shelf with the kettle too high up for the plug socket so the kettle has to be boiled on the floor. Plus points, room was clean and hotel in a good location for the train station.

We had problems with the cleaning of the room. First day it wasnot done (though we left the card for it on the door) and we told it to reception. Next day bath was cleaned but not the beds. We told it again so the third day finally it was done. But the rest of the days the cleannig was bad done and beds (except one day) were not done properly. Slso the cups for the tea were not cleaned.

We arrived and checked in only one towel in room and told we don't have hand towels, ok but I've towel between two people?, a tiny television, beds on wheels which move whenever you turn over and sockets way to far from the beds. The air con was inadequate and we could hear people showering and flushing the toilet in the room next door. Only positive it was close to the station

My wife and I were allocated an "accessible room" although neither of us are disabled. The wash-hand basin was very low and missing a plug. There was no toilet brush. The flushing buttons were awkward to use. The bathroom door did not close properly - on closing it sprang open again. Signposting to the hotel from the railway station (just 300m away) was poor - in fact it was non-existent!

Really happy with stay. Nice and clean, friendly staff, brilliant shower. Good location for station . Our room was very big. Only tiny criticism is a) no PowerPoints next to the bed and I found the pillows very flat and quite hard. Would be nice to have some fluffier pillows!

Disappointed and embarrassed with the booking in process at hotel, booked online for my 1st booking, then added another night by phone to the hotel direct, I was advised of a price and a note would be put on their system to state we would be allowed in same room, however when we arrived I was told of another charge of £15, when I tried to explain I was totally shut down, very embarrassing and shocked.
