My booking (through the hotel website) had gone astray somehow, but Graziella at check-in was really excellent. I would like to commend her. I was familiar with the hotel from previous stays and the experience was otherwise just as I expected, thank you.

Curtains did not prevent light from buildings opposite penetrating room all night and affecting sleep. Shelf under window was soaking wet and affected anything put on it until I realised it was condensation from the window running onto shelf. Walk in shower had extremely slippery floor and was dangerous. I asked chamber maid for a non slip mat but nothing happened. On checking out the receptionist said there weren’t any! This needs to be rectified.

Good location , a short walk from Meads temple rail station . You can park for free on the street after 6pm which is very unusual for Bristol since they are very strict parking rules . The room was small but good for purpose. There was coffee and tea facilities in to the room. A couple of negative things though . There was no ventilation in the bathroom which it made it stuffy , no other toiletries besides soap and shower which basically it was the same thing . The breakfast had basic things , but they had left the bread without any towel so everybody who wanted to have bread , he was touching the bread with bare hands which it was quite unhygienic. I informed the person in charge and his response was that people take the towel away to lift the hot food container . In that case, why don’t you have two towels so guests can use ???

Helpful and friendly staff. Twin beds far too narrow. Continually woken up by noise from the waste pipes every time someone in a room above flushed the toilet. "Bathroom" is a plastic prefab capsule, a bit like train toilets. I won't be going back.

The location was great for both Bath (15 minute train journey) and Bristol City Centre (5 minutes by bus). 2 minute walk to/from train station. The hotel was clean, comfortable and great value for money!

I have to say, in the last year and half Ibis has become 'a second home' for my daughter and I; every time I go to Bristol, where my daughter studies, I go either to Bristol Central or to Temple Quai. Sometimes I sleep in the ones you have close to Luton airport, you can check. An often, wherever I go, I firstly look for an Ibis hotel because I know what to expect once I step onto your premises. Nevertheless, this time, in Temple Quai, I was so perplexed and disappointed in your service, so I decided to inform you about the situation (maybe you can adjust it, in the near future). Since I don't live in the UK, I do not know the individuals' rules about their taxis so, during my last stay, I didn't know that some of them have (and some don't) credit cards on board. Therefore, it happened to me to take a cab to go to the hotel and be unable to pay because the driver said he didn't have the credit card on board. And I trusted the reception to upfront me 5.50 pounds; I needed the cash for 10 minutes only, till I could go to the closest ATM to withdraw. I was repeatedly told 'yes, we understand, but we cannot do this'. So, I went with the cab to the nearest atm then back to the hotel (paying three times more). I do not know if you are willing to modify your rules or not, but please notice that this one is beyond comprehension. I was a regular customer, in the middle of my stay (no way I could be gone with the money), in need for a little service and amount of cash, for a very, very short period of time, because of a misunderstanding. And yet, I was told by all 4 people at the reception 'we cannot do this; it's our policy'. I surely understand that the staff is not responsible for that directly so this message shouldn't be intended as a staff complaint. It's more like a "brand policies/rules" complaint. You have policies, of course, you are a business, but somehow, I cannot stop wondering... in the middle of it, have you lost your humanity ? I apologise for being that harsh; I trust you not to be offended by my words but catch the essence of it. Sincerely M.m.
