Classy property with a few small kinks

Grounds & room are very classy and well-manicured, exceptional. However the ceilings are quite thin and we can hear the activities from the room above ours. Food & beverage was quite good. Some classic cocktails at Long Bar had undisclosed twists, such as adding spirulina to the Bee’s Knees despite it not being listed as an ingredient. Breakfast at Cafe Europejski was great, but the service was quite slow both mornings.

-This was our fourth stay at the Raffles Europejski Warsaw. Unfortunately, the hotel wasn’t as good as before. -I had booked an executive suite and didn’t receive an upgrade at first despite higher category suites were available. -I was told that the hotel doesn’t upgrade any longer from suite to suite. They rather keep the suites empty. If one wants a suite upgrade you need to book a lot cheaper Raffles room. -This was the first time I experienced this and it doesn’t make any sense to reward those who spend less. -I raised this nonsense policy with the front desk manager who then was kind enough to upgrade our suite. -The whole experience really did make me feel that my loyalty means nothing to this hotel. -Not only am I a platinum member of ALL but a returning customer, too. One would think they could do better when charging 1,400 euros for two nights. -On previous stays, a butler has taken us to our suite. Not this time. And since no one explained the suite features it wasn’t until check-out that I learned the soft drinks from the minibar would still have been complimentary. There was a price list in the suite suggesting else. -Also, no more sweet treats from the Lourse were offered upon check-in. The hotel used to have marshmallow, for example, at the reception desk. -The Heritage suite was still lovely and we enjoyed our welcome amenity. -The breakfast was excellent as always as was the dinner. -The service at the bar was super slow, they took wrong order and then reluctantly corrected it without an apology or any compensation. Took forever to get simple bar food. -The points after our stay were posted wrong and now I have to chase them. We spent tons of money at the bar, bakery and dinner and didn’t get all points for these. -To sum it up: Not very smooth, relaxing and rewarding experience what one would expect in Raffles. Have to consider moving to Sofitel next time.
