Arrived very late (9pm check-in), bathroom had awful smell. Did not ask for room change at 10 pm.

I have stayed at this hotel in past and the older improvements needed can be visibly seen. Pros: -The location is ultimate, 5 mins walk from old town and right next to Saxon garden. - Received a platinum member upgrade, a welcome amenity, welcome drinks and a sincere thanks to Olga from guest relations for being so attentive and helpful. - The biggest change I noticed was the staff, the new team is so much better and friendlier. I genuinely felt like they care for each guest and aren't there just for the sake of it. A big thanks to all front desk, house keeping, concierge and the lounge staff for being super polite and welcoming. Smiling and actually making the hotel their place to work that they love. - The room was amazing, clean, filled with amenities, very clean bathrooms, I must say this very rare and there was not a single thing I could say that wasn't perfect. - Pillow menu, My BED SOFITEL, silk masks, night chamomile tea, one cannot go wrong with sleep when choosing this hotel. - The building has aged but you can visibly see that the maintenance is cleaning all parts of bathrooms and walls and stone countertops. The rooms are being unkept for their styles and cleanliness. - Pool is beautiful and well kept, sauna and other wet areas were really nice and well kept. Cons: - Even though the staff really takes care and soft product is out of box, the building inside and outside are in need to repairs and upgrades, but that is something I cannot count as a negative. - The gym definitely needs an upgrade. All in all you cannot go wrong with this property, staying here twice and already seeing the changes of much needed friendly staff and interior upkeep, I highly recommend this place to all guests.
