Power failure for nearly 2 days ... still no feedback from manager, one month later

Stayed here in May with my boyfriend, his daughter and her friend for the Taylor Swift concert. Overall the hotel seemed to be very nice. Reception was friendly, breakfast (the first night) was very good. During the second night there was a power outage. We only realized this the next morning when we arrived in the breakfast room, to find this empty and without breakfast. No pro-active communication from the hotel. When we asked what was going on, they told us there was a power outage which was being worked on. We could have our breakfast in another Ibis around the corner (budget) and it was definitely less good, in a stuffed basement with shouting kids. Less to choose from as well. At night, still no update or no electricity. They kept assuring us things were going to be fixed any time now. Off we went to discover the city. At the end of the day we returned to get ourselves prepared for the concert. Still no power. A cold shower was all we could have, and make-up was applied in nearly dark. Boyfriend stayed in the hotel as he had to work, but again no light nor wifi. In the middle of the night the power finally went on and woke us up. The next morning, no apologies from the hotel. When checking out I demanded a partial refund, since there was absolutely a lack of communication or feeling of responsibility. I totally understand things like these can happen, but it is the way they are dealt with that counts. I did not obtain anything as the receptionist couldn't take such decisions. Instead I got the email address of the manager. It has now been over 5 weeks and I am still waiting for a response, after sending multiple emails. I just called the receptionist who told me he did relaunch the email to the manager, but that it was up to him whether he felt like responding or not. I think itis an absolute disgrace to treat customers this way. I always stayed at Ibis but I will think twice about booking again.

Very friendly Staff members throughout. All procedures from arrival to departure were handled quickly and effectively and in a very friendly manner. We like the breakfast which had a decent variety and even fresh orange juice something extraordinary for a hotel in this class. As for the rooms, beds were comfortable, only the bathroom we found a bit too small. Temperature in the room was fine at all times. Location is very favorable as there is the metro station just a 2-minutes walk away and there are also bars/restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance.

We booked a family room and when we arrived, the room was in a horrific : It smelled and it looked very dirty and the bedding has marks on them And there was a insect crawling on one of the beds. We’ve told the Reception who arranged to separate rooms to accommodate all of us. The two new rooms are okay because we had very bad experiences of the first instance so the two new rooms smelled okay and Cleaner. We stayed in the two rooms for the rest of the stay.

The family room was big and comfortable. The staff was friendly and it was great we could bring our own snacks in and eat them in the communal area. A great option to stay a bit further from the centre for our budget. I would have liked more vegan options for the breakfast. There was soy milk but would have been great if there had been some vegan croissants or pastries too. I asked for Katherine instead of butter and they bought out another butter, so the breakfast options were more limited than I would have wanted. I had told in my booking form that I wanted vegan options but that wasn’t recognised in any way/ The tea selection was great though.
