Poor Accommodation

Guest Friends - Confirmed reviews ALL

On arrival I was initially located a room on the top floor. There was no room to open a suitcase, never mind stay there for a couple of days. I was then switched to a to a room on the first floor. This was more adequate and if felt like you allocated smaller rooms first. Breakfast was busy and breakfast items were replenised when ran out. We had to ask on several occasions for this to be done. When busy this should have been automatic. The room keys also stopped working several time during our stay and had to be reset at reception. There were quests allocated to ground floor right next to the coffee making facilities and as a group we couldn't sit and have a discussion on how to plan our day as was asked to kerp the kids silent as quests were sleeping. Maybe you have to have a rethink on where communal coffee and tea facilities are located.

Other than the front desk staff, everything was so bad. Room had a mouldy smell. The washroom and bath area was super small for my size. The stairs are so cramped, it feels like you are going in a cave. The elevator can only accommodate 2 people or 1 with luggage. The breakfast selection is a joke. Try the restaurant around the corner for a good one.

It was a very bad experience. I was on a business trip with my colleagues and booked several days in advance and all of us received a confirmation id. But on arriving at the hotel, clearly they had overbooked and didn’t have rooms for many of us. They randomly told our credit card was rejected and hotel was now booked out. They booked my colleagues into some other hotel which was not an Accor property after significant waiting time at reception. As for me since I had a Accor gold member status, I was told that they will accommodate me at an upgraded apartment in the property. I was in for a total shock when they handed physical keys (no key card) and walked me to a dingy place behind a car park with staircase leading up to a shady looking apartment with no privacy curtains in one of the windows. This absolutely messed up the experience for me. I hope no one has to go through this. As an Accor gold member, I feel terrible. Never again staying in an Accor property

Furthermore, the credit card used to secure your reservation turned out to be non-operational, which forced us to cancel your reservation a few hours after confirmation – just as we had to do for other guests in similar situations due to the lack of an email contact. 😔 We deeply regret the inconvenience caused. Regarding the apartment that was assigned to you, we are truly sorry that it did not meet the expected standards. The situation you described—with physical keys and an apartment located in a less maintained area—is not representative of the quality we strive to provide for our loyal guests. Everything feels small, but that is Paris ... Room is small Lift is very small Everything feels cramped. But so are most hotels in Paris. That being said, room deco is at minimum, no proper wardrobe. So there is not much difference with a standard Ibis hotel - this is a bit disappointing, I would have expected better from an Ibis Styles. Personnel is attentive and nice.
