The biggest hotel disappointment we have ever had

Old weardown hotel, dirty with a staff that looks like they have to be there out of punishment (with exception of 2 people in the reception, a blond gentleman and a polish lady, they were very kind). When we arrived it was first very hard to find. So we parked the car, and I walked via a narrow corridor, with Ibis branding, to a very old elevator, the whole place smelled like urine (not a little bit, but very much) arriving at the hotel I checked in, there is a small table in the lobby with one person who does not say hello, or even look at you. Just started in their phone. At the reception there is no one (at any point of our stay) you just wait at the reception, you have to yell hello… and then in minutes someone will show up. The rooms are old, but clean and the bed was ok. The breakfast was small, but it had really nice croissants (the nicest we had in Paris) but the rest of the breakfast nearly no choice. Overal a really bad experience, so bad that it could ruin your whole trip. Pool was closed (one of the reasons we booked this hotel, I asked if this was due to COVID, I was told, that it closed due to COVID, but that It likely won’t ever open again… and that captured our feeling, a has been hotel, that no one has any intention on bringing back to any standard… when I booked via the phone, no warning of this was given but I do understand why they asked us to sign up for the loyalty program before our stay, cause after this experience, no one ever would…

This is my first time staying at this hotel and I don't know if I will stay there again. I have no major comments about my stay, which in general has been good, I could say that it "is an Ibis like any other". what has not made me happy is the outside of the hotel at night. Too dark. Likewise, I think they have to make an arrangement for the elevator that communicates with the street in the pedestrian access. His physical condition is quite bad and he smells very bad

The hotel is not any longer what it used to be: no bar no resto, full of migrants (which on top are arrogant and far from polite). This gives a feeling to be in a refugee camp and not in a Hotel. And this for more than 120 Euro a night!

I often stay at the IBIS Comédie in Montpellier. All the rooms are large enough to accommodate a sofa. We never have to step around to let one person go to the bathroom and there is enough room in the bathroom to have all your toiletries either on the sink or by the shower. There were no «glasses» to have a drink of water. (IBIS Montpellier provides 2 plastic cups). The AC was not working. Although I tried to set the fan on 3 and lower the temperature... to no avail. We were lucky the temperature in Paris was mild! At check in, we received 2 certificates for free drinks.... the bar was closed! Since we had to catch a plane early the next morning we never used our certificates. I will not choose this hotel again.
