I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Mercure Makkah Aziziah, a 4-star hotel in Makkah that is part of the Accor hotel group. all.accor.com From the moment I entered the room, it was clear that basic cleanliness standards were not met. The bathroom was dirty with broken pieces, and there were no towels provided, no sanitary supplies, and no bin in the toilet — which is completely unacceptable for a hotel of this category. The room was dirty and clearly not vacuumed properly. Even after housekeeping the next day, the room was still not cleaned properly, showing a serious lack of basic housekeeping standards. While the reception staff were kind and polite, the shuttle service was not helpful at all. I was told there would be transportation but ended up having to pay for my own taxi, which was frustrating and inconvenient. Breakfast was also below expectations, with limited options and some hot food served cold. Overall, this experience fell far below what you should expect from a 4-star hotel in the Accor group. I hope management makes serious improvements to cleanliness, housekeeping, service quality, and guest care.
