We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Santa Teresa Hotel RJ - MGallery. While it might not have the over-the-top opulence of an ultra-luxury resort, it is a fantastic 5-star hotel that delivers excellent service, great amenities, and a very comfortable atmosphere. The Highlights • Spacious Rooms: The rooms are very large—or at least the one we received was—providing plenty of space to relax and unwind after a day out. • Dining & Breakfast: The on-site restaurant is lovely, and the breakfast served every morning was great. There were sometimes little misses at breakfast, but that is to be expected as this isn't an over-the-top luxury experience, and it certainly didn't take away from the overall quality of our stay. • Outstanding Service & Special Touches: The staff went above and beyond. Bottled water was always just a quick phone call away, which we really appreciated. The most memorable touch, however, was when the hotel mailed our postcards out for us completely free of charge—a small gesture that left a lasting impression! • Activities & Location: The hotel offers a great variety of activities. We took them up on a walking tour of the neighborhood, which was a fantastic way to explore the area. Verdict If you are looking for a highly attentive, beautifully run hotel with incredible hospitality, this is the place. I highly recommend it and we would happily come back anytime!

The hotel is elegant, very beatifully appointed, incoporating the charm of old Rio with modern amenties. The hotel staff is exceptional - friendly, helpful, efficient, catering to every need with kindness and ease. The food in the restaurant is true fine dining and again the service is superlative. The pool, the grounds, the outdoor bar, all add to the extraordinary ambience. As an overall hotel experience, it rates among the best. Notes: The hotel location is a removed from the heart of Rio. Having stayed in Copacabana and Ipanema in the past, it is quite a different experience and, while you are removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, you are also removed from fully experiencing Rio. The good news is that the hotel is so wonderful and beautiful, you never want to leave. Also, the stairways to the spa and restaurant are quite steep. It was raining when I was there and the stairs are not particularly well lit. I would recommend better railings and lighting (but maintain the beauty and charm)?
