The room was very comfortable, but unfortunately there was very little storage space for clothes. One half of the wardrobe housed the safe and fridge, while the other half contained the ironing board and iron. The bottom shelf was also used by housekeeping to store bed linen. There was no other available space offered. The bathroom similarly had very limited space for storing personal toiletries. Overall, additional cupboard, drawer and bathroom storage would have made the room much more practical and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful.

Bear in mind that I am a South African and my husband is German. We are wandering merrily and out of nowhere a young guy on a motorcycle rides onto the pavement and tries to grab my cellphone from my hand and then tries to grab my husband’s hand away from striking him. It really shook us up and we did read about this but got really complacent in Santa Teresa. The Santa Teresa Hotel is beautiful and a little haven for solitude and walking around and enjoying your space. Most importantly the staff and the General Manager Sophie Barbara is an absolute gem. My husband picked up a vomiting bug and she was super helpful in ensuring his wellbeing. We will definitely be back when back in Rio de Janeiro. Thank you Santa Teresa Hotel Team for a fabulous stay. Our family absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, every member of the staff was warm, friendly, and genuinely eager to help. The service was exceptional throughout our stay, and it felt like everyone took pride in making sure guests were comfortable and well cared for. The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained, and the beds were some of the most comfortable we’ve slept in while traveling. The food was excellent, and the views from the pool are simply incredible—it’s hard to imagine a better place to relax and take in Rio. What stood out most, though, was the level of care and hospitality. During our stay, our daughter became sick, and the concierge team went above and beyond to help us get the medical attention and medicine she needed. Their kindness and willingness to help during a stressful situation meant a great deal to our family. More than anything, we loved the warm, welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. It has all the charm and character you hope for in a boutique property while still delivering outstanding service and comfort. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rio.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent four-night stay at the Santa Teresa Hotel in Rio. I had been to Rio a few times for work but this was my first visit for fun as well as my husband’s first trip to Rio. While I asked to stay in Copacabana, our travel agent suggested staying in nearby Santa Teresa instead and at this specific hotel. What a great idea. A safe retreat in an artsy neighborhood with restaurants and shops an easy walk away. The hotel itself is a beautiful restored historic former coffee plantation, a nice oasis from the busy-ness of Rio. The grounds are lush and tropical and you will find yourself snapping many photos inside and outside. The breakfasts were sumptuous with a local Brazilian twists with excellent coffee and cheese breads I still dream about. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help us as we tried to communicate with a local artist to buy a painting, and allowed us to stay late in our room for an evening flight. The serenity room with a balcony was perfect for our stay and we had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay.

You guys made me wedding experience so dreamy. We rented about 17 rooms and each guest was treated so so nice and all the staff was so caring. 10/10 recommend.
