The hotel is average, considering the high standards of Accor chain. Unfortunately, ALMOST EVERYTHING in Rio (services, safety, quality, etc) is low profile (it is a matter of the 'carioca' people, style and way of living, indeed... :(. And Novotel SDU hotel unfortunately is not reaching the ACCOR standards. The hotel staff is great and everybody very supportive, I would like to stress. My evaluation is not related to the quality and attention of the staff and hotel team. It is related to the 'improvise-style' and the apparently lack of commitment of managers and so on. I would like to stress that the PARKING LOT (ESTAPAR) is completely CRAP and bad! Only 1 employee devoted to take care of receiving payments, park, bring the cars and so on. A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. If you need to ask your car, be prepared to wait for >15min to get it. UNBELIEVABLE... Anyway, I do suggest that the ACCOR HQ takes into account my consideration and take measures to mitigate these (long lasting, since 2022) issues...

I checked in late (arround 23:30). I tried to take a shower. It was a disapointment. Just a few drops of cold water fell. It improved a little during the morning.

Dirty rooms. The sofa bed in the room was in really bad condition, full of old sweat (my kid couldn’t use it). Poor ventilation in the rooms. The bathroom is in need of maintenance. Low-quality food. Unfriendly employees, especially at reception. Staff were not focused on customers and were speaking badly about each other in front of guests.
