I am writing to express my deep disappointment and formal complaint regarding my recent stay at your hotel. My wife and I booked a 3-night stay to celebrate both my birthday and Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, what was meant to be a special celebration turned into a complete nightmare. ​1. Misleading Information Regarding Facilities ​The primary reason we chose this specific hotel was the room description on your application, which explicitly stated the room included a bath. Upon arrival, we were informed that the hotel does not have rooms with baths at all. This is a blatant case of false advertising and misleading information that significantly impacted our stay. ​2. Unacceptable Room Conditions ​The room we were assigned was far below the standards expected of the Mercure brand: ​Noise Pollution: The room faced the main road with zero soundproofing. The noise from ambulances and traffic was unbearable throughout the night. ​Malfunctioning Equipment: The air conditioning unit made a loud, disruptive noise (sounding like a tractor), making it impossible to rest. ​Safety Issues: The entrance door was broken and did not lock properly, compromising our sense of security. ​Maintenance: The small flush button in the bathroom was broken and non-functional. ​3. Poor Service and "Compensation" ​When we brought these issues to the staff's attention, the response was indifferent. We were told the hotel was at full capacity and a room change was refused. To make matters worse, the "apology" gift sent to our room was a fruit platter containing rotten fruit, which felt more like an insult than a gesture of goodwill. ​4. Early Departure ​Due to these intolerable conditions, we were forced to accept your offer to cancel the remaining nights without penalty. We checked out after only one night, and our special occasion was completely ruined. ​It is a disgrace that a leading and well-known international chain like Mercure allows a property to operate at such a low standard and treat customers with such disregard. I expect a formal response regarding how you intend to rectify this situation and ensure that other guests are not misled by your advertisements in the future.

We chose it last minute, and thought that the photos reflected reality. But the room was somewhat dirty: stained carpet and furniture, dusty, remote control crusty; the bathroom also had some broken fixtures, the water from the shower always flowed on the whole floor. The staff were friendly.
