From the very beginning of my stay, the level of service was disappointing. During check-in, the receptionist lost my registration card and had to look for it. What was even more disappointing was the complete lack of information provided about the hotel. I was not told the breakfast hours, restaurant opening hours, or given any other information that would have been useful during my stay. The receptionist did not even mention the possibility of having breakfast at the hotel. This is particularly surprising to me;surely the hotel should be interested in encouraging guests to dine on property rather than leaving them to find another restaurant elsewhere. The situation with the restaurant was another example of the poor communication. I checked in before 9 p.m. and was still at reception looking through the restaurant menu. I then went to the restaurant and waited for a waiter. A few minutes after 9 p.m., I was informed that the restaurant was already closed. Of course, I understand that the restaurant closes at 9 p.m. However, the receptionist could easily have informed me of this when she saw me looking at the menu. After a long journey, I would have been happy to order even just a soup or something small to eat. A simple comment such as “Just to let you know, the restaurant closes at 9 p.m.” would have made a huge difference. Unfortunately, throughout my stay there was a noticeable lack of communication, attention and genuine hospitality. Despite my status, I also received neither a welcome amenity nor a room upgrade, even though I checked and saw that higher-category rooms were available. The attitude at reception was another disappointment. There was no greeting when guests entered or left the hotel, and very little engagement or interest in the guests whatsoever. For a hotel of this standard, I would expect much more warmth and attention to detail. There were, however, some definite positives. The location is excellent, and the breakfast was really very good, with a wide variety of choices. The lady working during breakfast was also fantastic. She was extremely efficient, quickly clearing dishes and keeping the tables clean. Her service was definitely a highlight of my stay. Overall, though, the hotel has a lot to improve when it comes to guest service and communication. The facilities and location may be good, but hospitality is about much more than that, and unfortunately this was missing during my stay.

We found the location of the hotel to be excellent, it was close to the old town and walking distance to various sights and the metro. The room was an excellent size, and comfortable, and the free mini bar was a nice extra. Our only complaint was that even though our booking was for our family, the bed for the children had not been made up prior to our arrival. I went to reception to ask for the bed making, then waited for an hour, but know one came, when I went to complain for a second time the man on reception finally brought us some bedding, and helped me pull the bed out, however it was left to me to put the duvet cover on the duvet, and although he brought 2 duvets he only actually brought one cover, it was after 11pm by this time so I didn't go and complain again as I just wanted to get my children to bed. This was the only issue in an otherwise great stay, and we would stay at this hotel again.
