Overall, we had a good stay and enjoyed our time. The hotel was clean and pleasant, and the staff was polite and helpful. However, one issue was that we had requested a baby crib in our reservation, but when we arrived at the room, it was not there. We had to contact reception to request it, and the delay impacted our baby's afternoon nap.

The experience was awful. The hotel failed completely in managing a hotel full of families with children and failed to impose basic rules of hygiene, basic manners, and appearance. The breakfast experience was literally, not figuratively, disgusting: smelly men with sleeveless shirts and disgusting flip flops, people of all ages touching scooping implements after licking their fingers, spitting incidents and so on. The lobby was a circus, literally complete with a clown. The elevators became smelly traps and one of the doors of the lifts took ages to close. In my suite the dental kit was not replaced and I appreciate that Housekeeping must’ve been under enormous pressure. The hotel must decide if it still wants loyal Accor customers to continue to use it, or prefers to turn into a low quality resort for families with kids and no understanding of basic rules of conduct in public places. Hygiene is non negotiable, as is a basic minimum dress code at the very least.

We booked a room for three. No bedding for the bed, they did bring some, the room was extremely hot had to call again, then water poured out of the bathroom wall. They sent someone, had to call again about the heat. They told us there was nothing they could do cause there were all on the same system and nothing they could do Were were very disappointed.

Everything was more or less ok, but it could have been better. - Not enough lifts, often long lines waiting. Staircases not accessible, rat poison boxes on display in staircase. - Only 3 coffee makers for a too small breakfast area. Nice offer but very chaotic and loud. - Shower very dangerous and slippery - The whole hotel makes a dated impression and is in need of a renovation - Not enough staff at the reception, long waiting lines.

I would first like to emphasize that what follows has nothing to do with the hotel staff, who have always been helpful and professional. The quality of service is not up to what one would expect from a Novotel: the key card for the door needs to be topped up several times a day, the breakfast terrace is dirty (too noisy inside), the bathrobes are frayed, and the shower faucet is broken, etc

Let me start with the positive: the staff and every person I dealt with at Novotel Bucharest were absolutely great. Everyone was friendly, professional, and helpful, and the service throughout the hotel was excellent. Unfortunately, the room itself was a different story. The biggest issue was the air conditioning. Even with the AC set to the coldest possible setting, the room stayed around 28–29.5°C (82–85°F), which made it very uncomfortable, especially during the summer. The room design also leaves a lot to be desired. Immediately when you enter the room, there is a separate toilet compartment with only the toilet inside. I personally found this setup awkward and not particularly sanitary. To make matters worse, the door to the toilet was crooked and would not close properly. Overall, the people and the service were excellent, and I really appreciated how well we were treated. Unfortunately, the poor air conditioning and some questionable room design and maintenance issues kept the stay from being as comfortable as it should have been.
