The rooms are in desperate need of a complete refurbishment. I stayed in a superior suite. The furniture was old, the walls were peeling, and the double bed consisted of two mattresses pushed together (which I hate because it forces you to sleep on the right or left); the pillows weren’t up to Novotel’s usual standard. The bathroom was very large. It’s a shame nobody bothers to check that the shower head is full of limescale and the water struggles to come out (this is a problem in many hotels. Doesn’t housekeeping manager notice it? Please do not blame the cleaning personnel. This is a job for the person in charge of the House Keeping. Instead of spending time at the desk, he/she should check room facilities). The thing that annoyed me the most? A very noisy ventilation system - impossible to stop - steongly disturbing your sleep. A lot of work to do.

I had a very enjoyable stay at Novotel Bucharest City Centre. The location is excellent, within walking distance of many of the main attractions, restaurants, and shops. The room was comfortable, clean, and well equipped, making it easy to relax after a day exploring the city. The staff were professional, friendly, and always available to help. Breakfast offered a good variety of options and was a great way to start the day. Overall, a very positive experience and a hotel I would happily recommend to anyone visiting Bucharest.

Georgios P. Business - Confirmed reviews ALL

Although I was looking forward for the specific stay, it turned out a rather unpleseant one. After a difficult day of travelling all you want is to go to your room unpack and have some well deserved rest. However, the guy at the reception had other plans for us as after checking in, we realised that the room we were given was not the one we had reserved and paid for. No it was not an upgrade but clearly a downgrade and the worse part was that he never told us during checking in but he left it to discover it ourselves. We took the card, went to the floor opened the door and surprise - what is this room? Back to the lift and to the reception to ask the obvious "please can I have the superior room that we paid for"? This time was another guy at the front desk who I must admit was quite polite, although his answer was "sorry but we have to many visitors and there is no superior room available". After shaking my head to make sure that I was hearing well, I explained to him that the fact that the hotel had a lot of visitors was not in any way my problem and that they must give us what we paid for (we had already paid the room) and that I want to speak with the manager. He went to consult someone and he came with a "sorry the only thing we can do is to give you a room with twin beds". I said that this is no option and I want the double bed superior room I booked ages ago. Back for more consultations and this time he found a room on the 2nd floor. The essence of hospitality !!!! Of course I was very frustrated with the whole attitude especially given that I am an ACCOR member with few thousands of points. What made me crazy is that since they run out of superior rooms (they found one) instead of thinking to upgrade you, the most obvious thing that came to their mind was to downgrade you. Last week I was in Brussels for another bluisness trip and I stay in IBIS of Grande Place. When I checked in the guy told me that since I am a member he was going to upgrade me to an executive room - this is hospitality.

Well located, very uncomfortable room. Old, furniture very old, bed uncomfortable, pillows very cheap, bathrooms super dated. Staff just doing a job - nothing more, nothing less. Not exactly friendly.
