We have had a disappointing experience during our 3-night stay. The first night, we couldn't have a shower as the water was cut due to work in the street. We were not notified, so we could work around the issue and we were told that we would not have water until the next morning when calling reception to complain. The next morning, the fire alarm went off for 15 minutes very early. No words, no apologies. The room wasn't cleaned properly and sometime wasn't even done. We have not had any water refill during the 3 days. Disappointing for the price we paid.

It was a pleasant stay overall. We stayed there for 7 days and we were satisfied. good for money because it was close to everywhere, station, restaurants and event to mall squares. the staff was really helpful and knowledgeable with the area and surroundings, noting Carolina and Raphael was pretty witty on giving us recommendations on what we could do. Carolina made sure our stay was fulfilled, always making sure we have what we need in our room. she was super friendly too. Raphael is a good bartender, quirky, but good bartender as the drinks he made doesn't taste any alcohol which makes it dangerous and smooth. we had many drinks at the bar because he was that good. the room itself, it got what we needed during the stay, a bedroom and a bathroom. although the room is small and we dont have any space to put our luggage, I am very sensitive with dust and because it was a unit aircon, I was sneezing most nights and had to sleep without aircon, does not really matter because it was cold when we were there. the housekeeping did a good job cleaning the room.

The staff seemed very inexperienced and the check in process seemed complicated and not overly friendly at times. We stayed 3 nights and I would not describe this as a boutique hotel, it is more like a small quirky hotel that needs renovating. The walls on our floor were in need of a good paint and the carpet didn’t look that great either. The lighting in the bathroom was too dim to put make up on, so I had to do it in the bedroom next to the long mirror. The water in the shower was a light sprinkle at best with no pressure at all. However the bed was comfortable and the coffee in the restaurant was great. This was definitely a bit of a shock for accomodation in Australia. I deem this incredible expensive for what we got. Not what I am used to for the price we paid I expected the quality to be higher and the experience to be a lot better.

Some staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing. The toast and breakfast tea was the worst I’d ever had. Disappointed in the size of my room, not much bigger than the lift. So much dust I could write my name in it. I stayed for 3 consecutive nights and for some reason I got charged a different rate for each night and 3 credit card charges. The lady who checked me out didn’t seem to understand what I was saying so I couldn’t be bothered to explain again. Safe to say I won’t be going back.

This was my second stay at this hotel. First time, everything was perfect, this time not so, sadly. This time I had a ‘side room’ rather than one that faced onto Pitt Street. The window was long and horizontal rather than several thin vertical windows. It just felt like a box with a window and laying in bed, all you saw was concrete walls. There was no street view. The room had none of the charm of my first visit. I couldn’t fully close the blinds to black out the room from the sun. There was a gap of a 20 centimetres. It made afternoon snoozes difficult. Two times the Chromecast stopped working. The first time they promptly rebooted their system. The second time they didn’t. I gave up. Because of the room design, I couldn’t access the usbc or hdmi ports so I was forced to watch things on my iPad. I tried a few times to use the chat function on the web app they sent me. No one responded. I tried calling reception on the internal phone. It just rang out. No one would answer it. I rang reception from my iPhone. And a few times with this there was no answer when choosing to dial to reception after the auto answer. I ordered and paid for drinks using the QR code in the room and web site. After half an hour, no one showed with my drinks. I rang reception with my phone again. The staff member said no order had been received. She then promptly turned up with the drinks. But then charged me for them (so I would have paid twice had I not picked it up). I had a need to iron a shirt and hunted in my room for an iron and ironing board. I found a Philips “steam and go”. I had never used one before. It was poor. I went out looking like I had slept in my shirt. I also found the service in the restaurant and bar at breakfast incredibly slow and unresponsive. The staff were stretched to check guests out, take orders, make coffee or juice or serve food (as in one person had to do all of these things and they only had two or three people on). All in all, I was pretty disappointed. I wanted this to be my hotel of choice or record for Sydney. I will go elsewhere next visit, I think.
