Ibis is consistently good - nothing fancy, just clean comfy accommodation. The welcome drink was great, staff were terrific. Often the choice is terrible, but we enjoyed some lovely white wines, ciders and ales. Thanks!

Recently renovated rooms at a good price. Clean bathroom. Street location can be quite rowdy on a weekend but the noise level at our room was minimal. No frills but reasonably so. Great choice for when you need to spend the night in the city.

Nice service by front desk and some lovely treats as Accor Limitless Gold member which I appreciated very much. Comfy bed and lovely hot shower. All we needed for our stay. Opposite World Square. Would stay again.

Stayed for one night as I have done several times before as it is a nice hotel and convenient for Chinatown and World Square and only a short walk to Town Hall for transport, theatre and the QVB for shopping.

We very much appreciated the room upgrade. We have stayed at IBIS World Square on a number of occasions and another great stay. Customer service was great. Although rooms are small they are clean and have almost everything than you need.

The hotel is very central.......very close to all transport . Room is a bit small but adequate...Shower recess is badly designed....central drain is too high so a lot of water would spill onto the bathroom floor..Good value meal options nearby.....excellent food courts in Chinatown....make sure you go to the food courts because we found the stand alone restaurants to be quite expensive .

With all the accor hype about COVID safe cleaning, I found some crumbs on the bench and carpet. This makes me wonder if the room was as clean as it was claimed. I booked a standard room but as a gold member, I automatically get a room category upgrade subject to availability. When I checked in, the staff were friendly but I wasn't told if the upgrade had happened or not, and it wasn't like there was a queue. A budget hotel shouldn't mean budget service.

Great affordable place to stay close to everything. Although the hotel was undergoing some renovation & the bar & restaurant were closed due to covid the staff made it a welcoming place to stay. Will come & stay again.

Amazing value for money. A basic facility but clean,comfortable and all you need - Nice bathroom, T.V and Coffee and Tea. The location is fantastic for pubs, restaurants, theatre and shopping mall across the road. The girl on the front desk - Sarah, I believe was extremely friendly and helpful.

Upon arrival found that the front counter and bar area was being renovated and the reception area was very uninviting. Could have been made better by installing some screening. Mohamed was courteous and we checked in with a minimum of fuss. Upon arrival in the room found that the windows had dirty smudges and "prints" on them. Desk was also very dirty. Housekeeping was no where good enough for normal times, let alone Covid times. I rang reception and was moved to a different room. New room didn't have towels and I needed another pillow. I rang Mohamed who took care of this - but it took a while. I was later to learn that Mohamed was on his own servicing all guests in the Hotel and had to leave Reception unattended for quite some time. I know because I went to reception and had to wait for attendance for ~10 minutes. 2 other guests also came and went during this time and phone rang a couple of times. I rate the "Service" poor, however when Mohamed was available he delivered quite good service - problem was he was alone. All in all, pretty poor management of the property.....

Worst Stay ever

Ibis Sydney World Square is now a hotel for the homeless. Paying guests are treated like second class citizens. Every time you leave the hotel you are harassed by guests staying there asking for cigarettes or money. I had the misfortune of staying for 4 nights during that time my room was never cleaned. I had to clean my own room and get fresh towels from reception. As a priority member I usually get a bottle of water and a voucher for one drink at the bar this was not offered. The lifts and hallways smelt of unwashed bodies. Reception staff were pleasant but I will never stay at this hotel again

We stayed here several years ago, and were very impressed this time by the renovations. Our room was small but very adequate for our needs. Good bathroom with great shower. Wifi worked really well. Excellent location- we caught the train from Newcastle, and Central Station is about 8 minutes walk away. Lots of really interesting restaurants of various ethnicities in the area. Staff could not have been any more friendly or helpful. We will definitely stay here again.

I had the pleasure of staying at another Ibis hotel. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. As usual the rooms were clean and fresh. Staying in the Sydney CBD, I got to have some great meals nearby. Whenever travelling. Ibis is my go to for a good nights rest.

So here is the issue. I am a Platinum member and frequent visitor of Ibis hotels and especially the Ibis World Square. I have a booking for 9 nights and i informed them that I will arrive at 8AM in the morning. They can only assign me to this lousy room on the 1st floor saying they were fully booked the day before. Honestly which I think is really hard to believe. It was still bookable and during the time of Corona crisis I do not believe any hotel was fully booked. This room on 1st floor is of course noisy, dark and smelly. They they offering an alternative room on the 3rd floor. Kind of an appartment outside of the building and have to go through some dodgy stairways. Room was nicer though but had no working table. They offered me to set-up a table in the hallway... Come on really. Eventually I went back to the my original room. I was just to tired changing again later. So I stayed 9 nights in this depressing room. The worst thing however were the insects. Every day I had fly´s in the room. I forgot to ask housekeeping to take care of that but then i would have expected some cleanliness in the room. Which was not happening. The worst was then this dead coakroach lying in the front of the door. After complaing I receive the usual "i apologize" and nothing else. But the worse was something else. While in the middle of the Corona crisis, Australia was shutting down and I was concern of getting back home as soon as possible. Unfortunately I had booked a pre-paid rate. This very impolite lady at the reception tells me that there will be no refunds or credits. So I had another follow up booking with the Novotel darling Harbour, also a pre-paid rate and they would immediately allow me to cancel and give me my pre-paid amount as credit. After have challenge this lady again, she tells me that this Ibis is an owner owned hotels (what else actually) and the decision of the owners was not to refund anything or not even credit for future stay. This I really found very hard to believe that owners would do individual decisions here like that. Not having any empathy. I am also working in the travel industry. I am a Director of an australian tour operator and a DMC operations. We are als had to deal every day with cancelations and we were given out credits. So I asked again another gentlemen and got the same answers. What also bothered me, was this attitude of the staff. "Sorry policy, we are an owner operated hotel" and basically we do not care what you say. Again YOU ARE AN ACCOR HOTEL and I am a platinum member. This is the reason why i am choosing your hotel and not any other. Anyway you can be assured that I will never stay at your hotel again and will never recommend to any of my fellow business travellers. Then again, you do not care. At least according to your staff. The whole Corona situation was already terrible enough and your hotel did not make any effort to at least maintain any loyal clients who has already stayed several times at your hotel.

Place is in the heart of CBD. I had a good stay. The staffs were very friendly. I just want to make a comment to the setup of the room. The room where I stayed I can't fully open the door of the closet because of the side table. The safe is in the closet and there's no way you can't access it fully because of the limit on the gap when you open the door. Not a good set up.
