We received a friendly welcome from the receptionist on arrival. We decided to have a afternoon sleep after a long day travelling around 5pm. We were woken up on a number of occasions by cleaners banging doors and running up and down corridor and talking loudly over a space of 30 minutes. Didn't get any sleep so we were tired for the rest of the night. Not happy at all because didn't realise your hotel cleans rooms so late in the day. When we went to the front desk to report this and explained the noise and asked why rooms are serviced so late and being so noisy, we only received a 'sorry about that.' The young Asian gentleman at front desk just wrote it down and we never heard anything again and haven't since. Very disappointing. Also, we could get coffee machine working the next morning and it leaked water everywhere. There were no instructions anywhere on how to use the machine. Seriously, this is very unprofessional and wasn't worth the money we were charged to stay at your hotel. Could have stayed at a much cheaper hotel like Ibis at half the price and probably got better service. Only receiving a sorry is not good enough and we never got an explanation to why rooms on our floor were being service so late in the afternoon and staff banging and yelling. Will not consider Novotel in our future trips to Sydney or anywhere else after this disappointing experience.
