Novotel Sydney Darling Square Hotel 4.5 stars

Great location, awesome rooms (had joining rooms) Great staff & facilities (kids loved the pool) Will definitely stay again

Given the COVID situation, hotels need to implement measures. This is the second time in a few weeks that I was impressed with the way Accor manages this (some weeks ago I stayed in Novotel - Lake Crackenback. Of course services etc are reduced and perhaps less 'pleasant' but it is what it is and you manage it well

I reviewed our stay twice on Tripadvisor but neither appeared on their review site!!? The review of The Pumphouse, handled exactly the same on Tripadvisor, appeared immediately. If I get time I will again add our favourable review to Tripadvisor. I have been a member of them since 2007, so doubt it was my input but a glitch in their system. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Novotel Darling Square. We loved our room in your hotel and the staff was excellent - their greeting very friendly and informative. The were very Covid aware (appreciated) The hotel is very well located for our purpose. The rooms were lovely and the view over the Chinese Gardens was very pleasant. Loved the bathroom and especially the rain shower. We enjoyed doing our laps in the lovely warm pool and tho' we didn't use the exercise equipment, it was impressive and certainly hope to use the fitness centre on our next visit. We found the rooms hot for our normal requirements and took the doona out of the cover to make things a bit cooler. We talked to management re the limited tea and coffee making items and they explained that it was due to Covid. Maybe takeaway items could be used. The Pumphouse was an excellent dinner choice and we would thoroughly recommend the location, city vibe and especially the food. Staff was friendly and knew their job. Covid protocol in place. Blake was wonderful, it was raining on Sunday 9 August 2020, he came out of the hotel with an umbrella for my 79 year old father who was walking using a walking stick. check in was smooth, kudos to the staff during these trying times - sad that there was no buffet breakfast, will return when that returns :) 4 rooms were booked between the H. and M. family for a wedding - the bride Annabelle Nguyen nee Lim spoke highly of the hotel which is why she booked 2 nights there and we stayed there post wedding

The staff were friendly upon arrival, the rooms nice and comfortable.

Felt very welcomed. Rooms are very nice since renovations - perfect spot to stay if especially if you are visiting the ICC. Close to reasonably priced parking, shops and a multitude of restaurants and eatery's. Also a nice stroll to the casino and not too far from the city shopping. I will be back.

Excellent as always

The hotel has done well to adjust to COVID with distancing reminders posted, barriers at reception. However, the breakfast was very poor being pre-package with lots and lots of single use packaging and very little for me to eat as a vegan (despite having called up and requested vegan options). The welcome drink voucher that could be used next door was appreciated, though. The room itself was excellent.

We have stayed here many times and as always this stay was great. Received a awesome check in, room was ready even the day bed for our daughter, as soon as we arrived. Looking forward to our next stay hopefully soon. Thanks for everything.

good location and comfortable room

Beautiful room, which was greatly appreciated. Was a little bit of miscommunication with the parking of my car as I arrived late at night with it pouring rain I parked close to the Hotel. I was then notified by staff that I could not park behind the bollards and asked to move the car to a carpark right next to the bollards, which I hadn't seen due t the heavy rain. On check out early in the morning I was to be charged $55 for the parking. As I was not notified of the parking charge I questioned it and the reception was kind enough to take the charge off. All in all great value and I will be back

Sadly, just the one night stay for us. Our room was very comfortable - a good size with all the usual amenities provided. A lovely hot shower with the added bonus of the choice of using either the rain shower head or the more traditional wall mounted spray. The hotel was very, very clean.

Room was very clean and nicely located. Was told parking would be $46 per night but was charged $99.20 still waiting to hear about getting a refund. Have called twice

Great but I had no milk and the to was for three people and we had two towels apart from that it was perfect!
