Overall, it was a pleasant stay. One minor note is that the room doors are quite thin, so corridor noise can be heard from inside the room. The breakfast selection was good, though I felt the service could be improved. For instance, the coffee jug was not refilled, leaving no hot coffee available. In my experience at other hotels, guests are typically offered coffee or tea at the table — I noticed this being done for other tables, but our table was not attended to in the same way. I hope this feedback is helpful and look forward to seeing these areas improved on my next visit.

I was lucky enough to win an overnight stay for two at Novotel Sydney Darling Square, which included breakfast. Overall, I had an enjoyable stay; however, there were a few things that could be improved. One of the main concerns was the lack of on-site parking. It would be beneficial if this was more clearly highlighted during the booking process so guests can plan ahead and make alternative parking arrangements before arriving. I brought my nine-year-old niece with me, and as it was her first time visiting the city, she felt quite anxious having to walk from the designated car park to the hotel. While I understand that on-site parking may not be possible due to the hotel’s location, clearer information about parking options and the distance involved would help guests better prepare for their stay and avoid any unnecessary stress. Another issue was the pool area. Upon opening the pool door, the overpowering smell of chlorine was quite strong and made me feel nauseous. Once inside, we noticed that someone had left the glass door open to the outdoor concrete area. As a result, the cushioned seating around the pool was damp, making it uncomfortable to use. After sitting on the cushions, my clothes were left smelling strongly of chlorine. Despite these issues, we still enjoyed our stay and appreciated the opportunity to experience the hotel. I hope this feedback is helpful and can be used to enhance the experience for future guests.
