Good stay and centrally located

Mantra Sydney Central is reasonable value for money compared to other hotels in the Sydney CBD. The rooms and facilities are basic, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were very accommodating, as we needed to keep topping up the tea supplies, and they were very obliging. The location is in the heart of Chinatown, with the light rail stop right outside the front door, with Town Hall and Central stations both a ten-minute walk away.

Stayed here for a night while passing through Sydney. Short walk or tram ride away from the Central Station with access to the Airport. Plenty of food and entertainment options in the immediate area. Easy access to Darling harbour or the Circular Quay area on the tram

This was my second stay in this hotel and it was below basic standards. I was in room 1010- the air conditioning compressor is so loud I had to turn it off. The coffee cups and glasses in the cupboard were dirty- there were lipstick marks on the glasses and coffee stains on the cups. I could see the coffee table hadn’t been wiped down- there was residue from split drinks on it. I didn’t complain at the time of arrival and request a room change as I immediately had to leave 30mins after arrival for a work event. Whilst conveniently located by the light rail be prepared to hear the light rail bell every time one stops out the front of the motel- even with the windows closed on the 10th floor. The building is poorly maintained. The middle lift sounds like it has some major issue as it rattles and shakes whilst decending- enough that people in the lift with me were considerably concerned. I won’t be recommending this hotel for business or private bookings.
