Huge rooms, reception staff are always smiling and friendly but hotline / reservation staff were rude and unhelpful

We really love the huge rooms with two double beds. The toilets were spacious and we were given rooms facing Hyde Park. What we didn't like was room service. We tried calling several times to request for towel replacement but for the four times we rang nobody picked up. We had to go to ground floor reception and ask them. We booked 8 rooms to celebrate our son's birthday with family and close friends, I called the reservation hotline 2 days before check-in and a staff named Jade answered my call. I hope that call was recorded because this person was not only unhelpful but was also rude. I even called her off for sarcastically laughing because I was asking if I needed to leave my credit card details now or will I just sort it out if I get to the hotel. We had booked the staycation package and our family & friends will be coming at different times so some might come in early to park then get their room keys. I wanted to sort it out early because we were a huge group. That phone call left such a bad impression on us. Your management should look into how you train your reservation staff. This was a first touchpoint that can potentially improve customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, there wasn't any genuine support from this person to help me sort out or clarify my problem. Not only was this call inefficient, staff like these do not have the right skills or etiquette for customer service.

My good experience at Pullman Sydney Hyde Park started with the check in: I arrived late at night, after almost 22 hours flying - with a connection in Dubai. Yet, the staff, a Pakistani guy, was very helpful, efficient, and kind enough to attend my needs. He gave me a warm welcome, providing me some chocolates and an extra bottle of water. Pity I do not remember his name! The hotel's room is huge, well decorated, and the view to the Hyde park was a must. The location is superb: just a few steps from the train station. Easy to walk to from there to the main touristic places. I will certainly recommend this hotel to friends!

Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant stay. I had to ask to have my room cleaned twice because it was so dusty that it was causing me to sneeze non-stop. During my 3 night stay, 2 out of the 3 mornings I was woken up by staff (the do not disturb was on the door); once to check the mini bar and second to clean my room (and I had advised the front desk that I would be sleep because I was in town for an overnight TV shoot, so would be sleeping.

The room was spacious, the staff very friendly and helpful... We were in town for a weekend away...it was easy to come and go and the great location meant we were able to just walk everywhere! ALso the lovelt large window was great to sit at and watch the world going by.. we even had a glimpse fo the water Breakfast on Sunday was busy but staff were still very accommodating to all; I love that you can still order eggs your way... Improvements: the room would benefit by having USB charging points... the shower hand rail in the bath needs repair (Rm 1305)

The bathroom had not been properly cleaned. A used shower cap was hanging on the back of the bathroom door, empty used soap and shampoo bottles were left on the side of the bath tub and an open, half used cake of soap was still in the soap holder in the shower. On top of this, housekeeping knocked on my door at 8am on the Sunday morning, 3 hours before check out.
