I was disappointed the Junior Suite did not have a dining table and at least two chairs. The room was certainly large enough for this basic room necessity. My partner and I wanted to sit down at a table and enjoy a meal in the suite but couldn’t as there was no dining table. Why wasn’t there one in the room?

We stayed for one night and after a day of travelling decided to have dinner at the restaurant downstairs. My husband was served a grey steak that smelled and tasted old and when he told the server the server spoke to the chef who responded ‘it’s just because you asked for it rare, that’s the way it is’. My husband who has always eaten his steaks like this was really unimpressed with this answer and asked the chef to try it but I don’t believe he did, but just insisted it was fine. I ordered the lamb shank and had a very upset stomach the next day. Would never eat there again. The rest of the hotel was fine, the beds were not the most comfortable but fine for a short stay. The location was good and a short walk through the park to city shopping.

My room had access to a large balcony which I took advantage of having a relaxing drink on my computer after work. Bar fridge was well stocked. Bed was comfortable. The room could do with a bit of a refurb. Quite dated. Internet was, well, forget it. It was inaccessible. I rang reception and followed the instruction. In the end I just gave up. Power point closest to the bed was under the bedside table. So if you are using your phone as your alarm then make sure your cable is long enough so you can sit your phone on top of the table and not on the floor. Basic hotel facilities - gym, pool, sauna. Good location. Access to in hotel bar and restaurant.

Room was good..lovely view of Hyde park and comfy bed but facilities were inadequate for a 5 star hotel. Uninspiring bar area and terrible spa area. Pool was tiny and dirty. No changing rooms, shower have a dribble of water. Jacuzzi was being used as a kids pool and jets didn't work. Been in far better holiday inn expresses.
