We picked this hotel because it was next to the railway station and we had a very early train to catch to Paris (6am). The station was very easily accessible, so it was a good choice. Moreover, the hotel itself was very comfortable and immaculately clean. All the staff were incredibly helpful. It’s a good 20 minute walk to the Old City, but we knew that when we booked it. The walk itself was very pleasant and easy.

My stay at the Mercure Balmoral was defined by how incredibly easy it made my trip. Being situated directly across the road from the train station was a total game-changer for arrival and departure, and having almost all the major bus routes right outside the front door made exploring the rest of the city effortless. The Hotel Experience: The Rooms: Absolutely spotless and very comfortable. It was the perfect quiet retreat to return to after a long day of walking the ramparts. The Service: The staff were excellent—welcoming, professional, and happy to help with any request. The Food: Don't miss the breakfast; it was excellent, with a great variety of fresh options to fuel your morning. The Neighborhood: I was also pleasantly surprised by the immediate area. While it’s convenient for transit, it also sits in close proximity to some fantastic local coffee shops and restaurants, so you don't have to go far for a great meal or a high-quality espresso. A fantastic, stress-free base for anyone visiting Saint-Malo!

Great staff, warm welcome and it is a location I stay in regularly. Unfortunately this stay was poor and the nights were uncomfortable. The room was incredibly hot and I understand although air conditioning is advertised it is not available for use. This meant that we opened the balcony door overnight and was bitten by insects. All in all, two very bad nights rest and a bad finish to the holiday!

Unfortunately the room we had was dirty. There was feces staining the toilet in a very visible place and the desk had sticky drinking cup stains on it. When such obvious grime is missed a customer has to wonder if the rest of the room has been cleaned. I wouldn't stay here again because I have doubts about the cleanliness of all rooms in this hotel.
