The room was small for two, the fixed table rather awkward. Everything was very clean. Needed more towels. It's brilliantly located but in a noisy area. Had to leave the windows open for ventilation but couldn't sleep because of people shouting until the early hours. Breakfast was good. Service was attentive. Needs a parking garage for bikes!

Anonymous Solo - Confirmed reviews ALL

The hotel has adopted a nautical theme with sea and sailing motifs and staff wearing traditional Breton T shirts. This makes it feel more personal than being part of a big hotel chain, which it is. Rooms are called cabins and I stayed in cabin 23 in the annex which was quiet and enabled a good nights sleep. I was surprised as the small streets of the old town are busy all the time. The annex has the smallest lift that I’ve come across so far in my travels through France. It’ll take 1 x person & 1 x luggage at a time. My room was clean and well equipped. No tea, coffee, water provided. There is no aircon which normally isn’t a problem but it was unseasonably hot during my stay. The staff are all efficient, friendly and helpful. Take a map when offered! Paper maps are offered and had one to locate the places of interest and plot a route to cover as many as possible. You can miss out on some astonishing historic buildings etc if you just use your phone to go from A to B. Brekkie is included and within stones throw there are many eateries and cafes. The city wall is mere meters away to take a ramparts walk around the perimeter.

Comfortable hotel within the walled historic centre. Breakfast room is tiny and crowded but we found earlier seemed to be better. There is no lift in part of the hotel so maybe check on booking, however we did have the delightful Nicholas help us carry our very heavy case to the 3rd floor. Our comfort room had view over the wall to the harbour. Being hot, we kept our windows open during the night which meant we heard all the young revellers leaving various nightclubs and bars at all hours. Ear plugs may be required for light sleepers.
