Overnight stay with family; Nicholas’ welcome was extremely enthusiastic and informative. Only comment dropping from 10* is the lack of aircon in the rooms which led to it being somewhat stuffy. Windows can open but the streets can be a little loud late evening and early morning but other than that, a great stay.

A fabulous stay, super location, very comfortable, and a great breakfast included. The small lift was a challenge with luggage, but all a part of staying in the charm of an older building within the walled city! We hope to return again!

Do not stay there if you are claustrophobic! Box size room with dark grey walls and black ceiling, tiny bathroom. Access to our room on 4th floor was via separate entrance on side of the building, via narrow steep stairs or smallest ever lift, fitting 1 person only. Mattress on bed was old, dipped in. We had to leave early, 6.30am, and were told that we can have a take away breakfast - when we came down in the morning to check out, the main front door of the hotel was closed, the lights were off and there was nobody in reception - it was like hotel did not exist. We had booked comfort room with a view for 1 night - the photo of the room on booking site is nothing like the room we were given. Stay away from this one.

Dear Sir S., It seems that you did not stay in the same hotel as all our clients. There is the last feedback in the cabin 42 where you sleept : "Comfy bed in a clean room with great facilities and a quirky boat cabin theme, fantastic views of the harbour. Lovely friendly staff, especially Nadine. Elegant bar and reception. Superb location, easy parking 1 minute from hotel, just right for exploring the historic city.. Lovely breakfast." Staying in the historic center has many advantages but can have some inconveniences. You are staying in a 17th-century building, rebuilt after the war and full of history. Regarding our elevator, admittedly it is small, but it has the merit of existing, which is far from being the case in most hotels in the Historic Center. We are present at the reception 24/7; our night staff had taken care to prepare your take-away breakfast and she was in the breakfast room finalizing the preparation when you left. The hotel door is locked at night, as in all hotels. A bell is present at the entrance... Why didn't you ring ?! Our hotel has been completely renovated since last year and the bedding is brand new.
