We have been coming to this Ibis for a number of years now and have always had polite, welcoming staff who have always tried to help us. My husband forgot to add early check-in to our booking. When we arrived (early as our boat had come in early from Portsmouth) we asked if we could pay the €30 for an early check-in. The answer was a straight no as the hotel had been full the night before. Whilst we completely understand that all the rooms might not be ready at the same time, where our room was, was being cleaned first. The male receptionist could as a courtesy said to us that if we waited an hour he would ask to get our room ready so we could check-in. We were more than happy to pay for an early check-in but were shut down immediately. We ended up going into St.Malo in scruffy overnight boat clothes. We came back to the hotel around 2pm as we were tired and asked if we could buy a cup of tea from the bar. We were given a teapot each half filled with water . About half an hour later we were told our room was ready which we gratefully accepted. There were a number of people who arrived around 2.30pm and asked to check-in but were turned away saying check-in was 4pm. We totally understand the check-in times, but as we were willing to pay the €30 and were happy to wait for a room to be made up, we felt some flexibility could have been made. Your staff are normally so welcoming and we did not feel welcomed at all.

We checked in late and were fortunate to find a parking space. There was no food or drink available, other than some microwave-able jars, that did not look appealing. The room was very small and overlooked the refuse collection area at the back. The following night we used the Buffalo Grill next door, which was OK.

A good night sleep, very comfortable bed and ideal location for travelling. Breakfast expensive and lacklustre and room smelt as if the residents cat had sneaked in at first. Staff friendly and very helpful

Check in is at 4pm and we checked in online with a view to arriving around 3pm. Which we did and we were able to check in early and get in our room. Brilliant. The room was very underwhelming. Very little room between beds as a put me up bed has been installed for our daughter and a desk put down. The bed is as ok. It had a topper on that the sheet went round, but it didn’t fit at the bottom so the sheet moved around. whilst the rooms looked like they have had a little makeover the bathrooms are very old. Our shower tray wasn’t very nice with missing silicon and signs of how old it was. The room was functional but you’re paying to be close to the terminal. We payed £150 ish for a 2 adults and a child and that felt rather expensive for what we got. But it did the job. Staff friendly, but confusing downstairs. There seems to be a bar but don’t know whether it was open as it always seemed dark.

We stay here normally just for one night to either catch the boat back to Jersey or to get an early start on travelling down to the south of France given DFDS”s time table, the hotel is well organised and the staff couldn’t be more helpful, I think we have stayed here 7 times so far and will continue to do so, the air conditioning is fantastic so much so I was cold when it was 37 outside, the car park is an added bonus and it’s secure, being 100 meters away from one of the biggest shopping centres in Brittany again is fantastic for shopping, Burger King 60 meters away and a bakery 50 meters away what’s not to like, if you live in jersey and like me hate being in the walls of St Malo for sure you have to stay here. The room was nice and clean. Compact but convenient for stopping overnight. The staff were nice and helpful. I would have liked to have seen a coffee and tea facility provided in the room for the price that I paid. Not being able to get a coffee during the day unless I paid €4.00 a cup I think is a bit unfair. Otherwise I enjoyed my brief stay.

The location is good and convenient for st Malo ferry port. Staff were also lovely however the room smelt damp and did not look properly clean. It was very noisy we were constantly woken up by loud noises from inside the hotel throughout the night. Way too expensive for what it is

I used your hotel many times in the past. I was very surprised to find at breakfast that there was no cows milk or cereal, only soya or almond milk. I asked one of your breakfast assistants and was told you were no longer doing cows milk. Is this correct?🤔
