I returned to the hotel at 4pm one day to change clothes, answer some emails. The room was only just then being cleaned, there was no AC in the halls (which also meant no air filter for the hazy air), and the lobby was crowded and loud. I went to the 3rd floor reataurant which was closed and sat quietly at a table to manage my emails. I was told to leave immediately that I was not welcome there. I explained my situation, that I just needed to manage some emails and I would be quiet/clean. A manager was called to reinforce I must leave. In addition, my room A/C had to run constantly and yet never quite cooled the room. There were 3 hangers and no drawers for my clothes. The cabin for the toilet was so small that I had to leave the door open. The cabin for the shower leaked water into the rest of the room. The only good things I can say were that I enjoyed the lap pool, towels were always available, and the bed/pillows were comfortable.

I stayed in a loft style room with my family and we had adjoining rooms that connected. The hawker stalls nearby were handy and the shopping centre (Bugis +) is basically next to the hotel. MRT is a block away. Pool is quite nice and small gym available. I made use of the self wash laundry facilities. The hotel lobby is quite beautiful. Our level seemed to have some water damage and a bit of a musty smell. The loft rooms have a floor bed which could be a struggle for older guests. Also the sofa bed that folds out isn't overly comfortable and does take up a lot of the downstairs space when opened. Breakfast was decent. Overall a good location and convenient place to stay in the Bugis area.

Well located, comfortable, friendly staff. Our floor (14th) smelt a bit damp during the stay & the corridor was red hot, but the foyer & restaurant areas were very pleasant. The bar staff became easily overwhelmed when there was more than a handful of people requiring drinks.

I was disappointed with the room, which was described as an upgrade at reception but felt more like a downgrade. The bed was located on a second-floor loft area, requiring me to climb stairs repeatedly just to access the bathroom or organize my luggage. This layout was highly inconvenient. The inconvenience was compounded by the fact that the phone on the upper level was not working, forcing me to go downstairs whenever I needed assistance. The gym facilities were small, outdated, and uninviting. Additionally, the corridors were extremely warm due to the lack of air conditioning. The only redeeming aspect of my stay was the breakfast, which was genuinely delicious.

Mercure Bugis is centrally located to the Bugis shopping district. Being a Gold Accor member, I got upgraded to the executive loft, which is a bit bigger than the standard loft I originally booked. The unit was compact but cozy and comfortable enough for two people. Members of the staff were great, but we did not get any assistance with the luggage upon arrival and departure unlike in other hotels where you are welcomed and helped with heavy suitcases. I put it down to short staffing. We got buffet breakfast with our booking. There was enough variety of hot dishes, but nothing very special.
