I am so disappointed with Accor and this hotel. What should’ve have been a relaxing and enjoyable stay was stressful and uncomfortable because there was a points dispute between Accor and the hotel that they were then chasing me for. This started prior to our stay when the hotel asked me for pre-payment. I obliged but then they proceeded to ask for more money. I gave 2 x different credit cards that they did not accept and in hindsight I’m glad they didn’t because they would’ve just charged me money and then I’d be dealing with it after my stay. Accor membership is a joke. The whole program may as well be disbanded as there’s very little benefits

For my side, I stayed at Mercure Singapore Bugis during a business trip, so all accommodation arrangements were handled by the company. Maybe the room I stayed in was one of the cheapest options, so this is just my honest experience during the stay. My first impression was that the room was quite small. In addition, the receptionist gave me the wrong bed type, even though my booking details clearly mentioned a preference for a single bed. The solution offered was that I could change the room/bed type the next day, not immediately, and there was no complimentary gesture or compensation for the inconvenience caused by the hotel side. The second issue happened when I changed rooms. The new room had an unpleasant smell coming from the toilet, which honestly made me feel sick. I even had to spray my own perfume to reduce the smell. The room was also a connected room, so sometimes I could hear noise from the neighboring room. Sorry for sharing the real experience honestly, but aside from those issues, everything else was okay — just ordinary, nothing particularly special.

I'd recommend this hotel as a great base from which to explore Singapore! It's in a brilliant location with plenty of food options nearby. All members of staff I encountered were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. For the price I paid, this hotel was great. The outdoor pool offers a nice spot to relax after sightseeing. Some aspects of the hotel do appear to be a little dated or in need of TLC, but overall it was clean and fairly well maintained. I did love the loft style room with stairs leading up to a tatami-like bed/matress, but that's simply my own personal preference.

Overall it was a good stay. Location was great. The hotel needs to replenish their towels- the ones they have are frayed and obviously have seen better days. Also, might be good to install a bidet if the toilet is separate from the shower room.

Perhaps due to the weather, the room is filled with moisture smell. Quite unpleasant despite staying for 6hrs. Also request for a small cake to celebrate birthday (actual day) but was missed out. (Understand such request not mandatory).
