At breakfast the milk had ran out for coffee. I politely asked for some more, and waited a considerable time and none arrived. The person that I asked clearly didn't look happy to be there, and was using negative language in front of guests, which is not the impression one would expect. Also, the tomatoes contained lots of herbs which made them inedible. May I suggest just providing the tomatoes as they are instead.

If we had stayed just the one night the rating would have been lower as our first morning was awful - no hot water for showers, my colleague has to call down and was told it needed to be turned on, very surprised as the location is clearly for business stay and 6am is not an unusual time for wanting to get ready? The first morning breakfast was no menu or option - not the staffs fault they were clearly understaffed and one poor lady trying to take orders, payments as well as cover reception - we were offered a full English - and did not realise there was a choice until the second morning where more staff were available.

my room wasn't serviced after the first night - which was very disappointing. The WIFI was terrible and the water pressure non existent. The pictures show that you provide mineral water in the room, but yet none was provided, and when I asked, I was told that it was chargeable. I feel this is a misrepresentation. My room was dirty when I arrived, and then on the one occasion in 3 nights it was cleaned it was a very half hearted attempt.

The room was overpriced given it wasn't cleaned or teas/coffees topped up. Whilst I only stayed two nights I was surprised it wasn't cleaned. The room itself was comfortable and modern The WiFi access was very poor

There was no breakfast included, no shower gel or shampoo in the room, the room was dirty with blonde hair pretty much everywhere, cup/glass ring marks on the bed side table, no bottled water (which is advertised) when I initially spoke to reception the guy was quite abrupt, I then spoke to another member of staff who actually went out of her way to try and help me, and would have moved me had the hotel not been fully booked, this lady was the highlight of my stay.

Location, parking, building and rooms were really good and have no complaints there. Breakfast however I did ask what could be done gluten free and was told the "vegan plate" could be done gluten free. Hours later I was very unwell and had to cancel my work meeting and return to my room to recover. Later that week I emailed to ask what was in the vegan sausages and the team came back and wheat was listed 3 times in the ingredients and therefore not making them gluten free. This was disappointing as this made me sick as somebody who is gluten free and my reaction could have been a lot worse and to be told it was gluten free and was not isn't good. I did write an email of concern to the hotel so this doesn't happen again and it is being investigated which is good and the team will let me know so this is a good sign.

Staff were great, very friendly and helpful for check in, breakfast and check out. Room presentation was good, and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom / Shower was clean. The corridors to and from the room's, are very dark and foreboding ( perhaps a rethink on the dark grey walls could help ) Dinner at the adjacent pub (not affiliated I think) wasn't available when I walked across at 7.45pm to be told the kitchen was closed, but there was still a carvery available, which didn't look very appetising at all, so I ended up popping up to the local fish and chip shop. Breakfast was ( despite the great poached eggs and bacon ) really poor, with low quality filter coffee, extremely dry chewy croissants and a dubious continental 'buffet'. Big positive was the on-site EV charger, very helpful and thank you Overall good value for a one night business stop over, as long as your not looking for Michelin star food.

Not as clean as usual. Someone else's pubic hair in the shower, mirror and shower screen given a once over with a dirty cloth, dust on surfaces and an odd smell in the room. I suspect this room may not have been cleaned at all between occupants, just bins emptied and sheets - hopefully - changed. This isn't my usual experience with this hotel, so not sure what the problem is at the moment.

This was booked through the company I work for using their corporate link. On the first morning I went down for breakfast and enquired if breakfast was included, which I think was requested on the booking, the manager that day said it was. However he also mentioned that although it didn’t show up on the spreadsheet they had in the breakfast lounge it was definitely included. This proved to be a problem when he wasn’t there. Again I was asked on Tuesday and told it wasn’t included, luckily that same manager was on site to inform them that all was ok. Wednesday was ok as the breakfast staff had dealt with me previously. Thursday came and the breakfast staff told me it wasn’t included and I tried to explain. The server went to get the manager who came over and asked me why I needed to speak with her. I hadn’t need to speak to her, however I explained what had happened and mentioned as it was a corporate booking there may have been some misunderstanding and if necessary recharge the breakfast costs to be covered by the company I work for. She mentioned as the manager had okayed it on Monday then to just carry on. This then deterred me from using the breakfast facilities on Friday and I went without. Saturday also I left early to travel the 8 hours north to Scotland without using the continental option mostly so as not to be confronted again. How can Ibis make sure this doesn’t happen again and how can they make guests feel more welcome? I felt uncomfortable being questioned in front of other guests so much so I offered to pay if there was any mistake. Not a great experience for the sake of £15!!!! I also noted that the menus displayed on the in room information system were priced wrongly. I only found out when I went to the bar area to make a food order that it was far more expensive than initially thought. Can Ibis not update this or make people aware it’s wrong? The good point about the Ibis was it was within 5 minutes of the training course I was participating in.
