Our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing and nowhere near what is expected from a 5-star property. While the reception staff were professional and welcoming, the buffet breakfast experience was absolutely unacceptable. The staff at the breakfast area were rude, poorly trained, and clearly lack even basic hospitality etiquette. The way guests are spoken to is disrespectful and unprofessional. We are from Australia and are frequent travellers who regularly stay at Novotel properties around the world. This is precisely why this experience was so shocking — it falls far below the usual standards we associate with the brand. The coffee machine was not working properly, the food quality was substandard, and nothing felt fresh. To make matters worse, there were mosquitoes in the dining area — something completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be 5-star. What was most frustrating was the way the buffet closing was handled. The stated closing time is 10:30 AM, yet staff started packing up at 10:15 AM without any communication or courtesy notice. No one informed us to take what we needed before closing. Instead, it felt like we were being rushed out. The overall attitude of the breakfast staff made it seem as though they were doing us a favour by serving food, rather than providing a service we had already paid for. This level of service is disgraceful and does not reflect the standards of a 5-star hotel in any way. Serious improvements are needed in staff training, food quality, and basic guest handling.

Set away a little bit from the main historical side of Phuket town, but still within walking distance, this Novotel offered great value for a family visit. If you are after parties, probably not the best for your, but for chilling out and being within that walk, taxi or boat ride of everything Phuket has to offer it has its advantages. Will most probably be back again.

In true Thai Hospitality, all Accor Status and Benefits are well honoured by the hotel. That is the biggest attraction as a loyal Accor member for 10 years. Hotel hardware works well and was thoroughly clean throughout my stay. The Staff members from bellboy till check in desk and room service and house keeping was magnificent. Always smiles and greetings. Truly a gem of a stay in Phuket. Will revisit soon.
