Different problems occurred before and during our stay

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was lovely... except for the street view from the balcony... but that's ok. The staff were amazing. I mentioned that I can't use the communal toaster as I'm gluten free and the next morning, there was a designated toaster in the gluten free area of the buffet! They really went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.

Amazing service from the staff, super friendly and helpful with any questions I had, the room was very luxurious and spacious. The location was ideal, so close to everything we needed and the ammenities at the resort were incredible. There is just one incident that I want to flag for future reference and potentially room for improvement. There was a male staff member at the pool area that spoke to my partner and ask “is your girlfriend/partner the bigger girl?”. Now do believe there was no ill intent meant with this comment however as I was made aware of it, I was upset and found it to be a little offensive and inappropriate. So much so that I wasn’t comfortable being in a swimsuit at the pool for the rest of the day. I’m totally understanding about working in a service/hospitality industry and having to deal with all sorts of guest/customers, both kind and difficult. However this comment wasn’t provoked or said after a frustrating conversation and I do believe guest shouldn’t be described by their weight or body and also shouldn’t have been said to another guest/my partner. I’ve taken the comment on the chin and just accepted that it was made but I just wanted to bring some attention to this comment so that moving forward another guest doesn’t have the same experience and is made to feel uncomfortable or potentially triggered. Apart from this one interaction my stay was extremely pleasant and every other staff member I crossed paths with was incredibly friendly and helpful and so professional. I would most definitely recommend to friends and family to stay at the Grand Mercure in Seminyak and have continuously done so! And most importantly I would stay again. Thank you for taking the time to read my review.

Loved everything about our Luxury Escapes holiday except for the included lunch/dinner. The menu was the same for either meal for the entire 7 days and it was a very bland choice of foods. We ended up eating off site. We didn’t use a single included hour of cocktails either because there were only 5 or six to chose from and none of them were options we drank.

This was my second stay at this centrally located hotel. The rooms are spacious with everything you need and cleaned to a high standard The whole hotel is very well maintained and the breakfast is standout! Although many Balinese hotel staff are friendly and welcoming I have to say this one is amongst the best. They took time to make sure everything was perfect and were absolutely amazing with my young grandson. Special shout out to Suking, Wiana and Kusuma in the restaurant and all the staff at the pool and kids club.

Within walking distance of the double six beach which has a lot of nice restaurants and bars. Pool facing rooms are nice and the pool is large with different sections for kids and those interested in sunbathing.
