Peppers Seminyak 5 stars

We all had an amazing experience any request was actioned immediately. The resort is a little older than what I have been used to in Bali but the grounds etc are so well maintained as was the footprint of our villa where we all commented on the beautiful array of plants , trees. The housekeeping & hospitality staff were amazing especially Kiwi in the Laneway restaurant & the SPA staff - the lovely Diastri. Ali in Customer service assisted us on many occasions ( and is an amazing to your team) as is Ketut & Aldi.

We stayed here to celebrate a family birthday. We had a fabulous stay from beginning to end. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful and we were soon on the way to our gorgeous villa. The villa was very spacious and had plenty of room to relax in our outdoor living area. Even though it was very hot while we were there, the outdoor spaces were shaded and had fans to move the air, so it was comfortable to spend time there and the pool was a lovely and very welcome addition! While we didn't use the main resort pool, it was also very lovely and looked so inviting and was never crowded. The bar and outdoor eating area were well shaded and a great place to relax, while the indoor dining area was an excellent option if you wanted to eat away from the warmer temperatures outside. Our family members stayed in a large villa with tropical gardens and many bedrooms to accommodate everyone and it was truly gorgeous. Separate bedroom villas, a large, modern, indoor kitchen, living and dining area and a large outdoor pool area with a bar and lots of seating, both undercover and around the pool. It was a perfect way for everyone to be together to celebrate a special occasion. The hotel also catered the birthday party with delicious food cooked at the villa. The hotel restaurant had a good selection for breakfast, including individually cooked meals as well as cereals, fruit and pastries and some hot local dishes. The bar menu was also good, with many western food options. The only feedback I would give is that I would have loved to have a few more traditionally prepared Balinese dishes, such as curries, Nasi Campur, spiced chicken or suckling pig. The Balinese dishes on offer were quite toned down in flavour and were the safer Mie Goreng , Nasi Goreng or Satay skewers. While the food on offer was very good, it didn't make me feel like I was in Bali. While I know its trendy to have a massage at a local spa, I also used the hotel spa and had an amazingly relaxing treatment. My masseur was also a myotherapist and really worked out the knots from a day of travel, without causing pain. I highly recommend the hotel spa if you're in need of a recovery or relaxation massage but don't want to leave the resort.

I will, as I do each year after our trip to Bali, provide positive feedback on TripAdvisor. However, I wanted to use this direct link as an opportunity to share some more detailed feedback on a few areas where I feel Peppers Seminyak could improve. Our recent seven-night stay was our 6th stay at Peppers Seminyak, which hopefully demonstrates just how much we love the property and what it means to us. We will absolutely be returning for our 7th annual stay, and we continue to recommend Peppers to our family and friends. In fact, between my friends and me, we have recommended Peppers to more than 10 groups who have subsequently stayed at the property. One thing that stood out this time was the lack of personal recognition. At check-in, we were welcomed and asked whether it was our first stay at the hotel, which felt a little strange given this was our 6th visit. There was a note in the villa from the GM welcoming us, which we appreciated, but unfortunately, we never had any personal contact with Mr Todd during our seven-night/eight-day stay. This felt like a missed opportunity. During our previous stays, we had developed a very nice rapport with Mr Jan, who always made a point of personally saying hello, asking how our trip was going and generally making us feel recognised as returning guests. I have spent my entire career in sales and client engagement, and I genuinely believe those small personal interactions are incredibly important in building loyalty and making repeat guests feel valued. Even a simple hello or acknowledgement would have made a difference. The other area I wanted to raise is the physical condition of the villas. There is no question that the villas remain fantastic in terms of their layout, design, space and privacy, and these are all major reasons why we keep coming back. However, our villa was looking tired in some areas, and in particular the bed linen and white bath towels are in urgent need of replacement. The towels, in particular, were grey rather than white, looked shabby, had loose threads around the edges and, in some cases, were stained. This is a significant “ick” factor and, in my view, doesn't reflect the otherwise high standard of the property. Replacing these items would make a relatively simple but noticeable difference to the guest experience. Another issue was the gaps around the sliding doors, particularly the bedroom doors and the doors between the bathroom and bedroom. These allow mosquitoes to enter the villa and, despite the coils provided and the additional repellent we used, mosquitoes were consistently present. While this is obviously frustrating from a comfort perspective, it is also more than just an issue of being itchy. Given the concerns around dengue fever in Bali, I think this is something worth addressing properly. If possible, installing or improving the seals around the sliding doors would be a worthwhile investment and would significantly improve the experience and peace of mind for guests. There are, of course, many positives to highlight. Your staff are, without exception, friendly, helpful, professional and warm, and they really are one of the things that make Peppers special. We love the location, we love the spa, and the therapists there are fantastic. The breakfast remains really enjoyable, and we thought the room service was particularly good this year - a big improvement on some of our previous stays. We also thought the gym upgrade was really good and a welcome improvement to the facilities. Ultimately, despite the points above, we remain huge fans of Peppers Seminyak. If we didn't love the property, we wouldn't be returning for our 6th, and now 7th, annual visit. We genuinely want to see Peppers continue to maintain the standard that has kept us coming back year after year. We will absolutely be booking our next stay and will continue to recommend Peppers to our family and friends. We hope this feedback is useful, particularly coming from returning guests who know and love the property and want to see it continue to be as exceptional as it can be.
