We recently stayed at Grand Seminyak and unfortunately the experience did not align with its 5-star positioning or price point. To be fair, the staff were excellent warm, attentive and genuinely helpful throughout. The beachfront location is also a major highlight, and the beach club / restaurant has a great atmosphere when you’re there. However, the condition of the rooms and overall property fell well below expectations. There are clear signs of ageing and lack of maintenance throughout heavily stained and cracked flooring, worn finishes, mould and grime in bathroom areas, and a persistent damp smell in the room. Towels and linen also felt below the standard you would expect at this level. There is also noticeable a low frequency bass sound from the beachfront bar at night, which carries into the rooms and affects sleep something to be aware of if travelling with children. This continues till 10pm. Having since looked at other reviews, it appears these issues are not isolated. While the hotel may once have been a premium offering, it no longer reflects a true 5-star standard in its current condition. If this were priced as a mid-tier hotel it would represent reasonable value, but at its current pricing and branding there is a clear gap between expectation and reality.

Enjoyed the high level of hospitality displayed by the staff, especially the breakfast crew. Proximity to the beach is excellent and thoroughly enjoyed the daily evening entertainment, including the fire dance! As i was on half board, i must say the quality of the food was excellent and offered a variety of choices! Visited the spa as well, and the therapists were professional and i had a good massage. Keep up the good work!

The location and the staff really made this trip for me. Everyone was just so nice, from the front end staff to the restaurant staff. The location on the beach made for some great sunsets! Actually the food was brilliant too. The one thing that I would perhaps say, is that the music for the beach club is quite loud until around 10pm each night. But if you’re out and about and not looking to go to bed before then, you should be fine.
