We stayed at the Pullman last June and spent $4000 Aus on accommodation for 2 rooms. This January we had 1 room, quoted $169 per night but ended up being charged $188. Toilet stopped flushing, TV remote didn't work, elevator out of order and the breakfast buffet seems to be cost-cutting; as the quality of hot items offered were cheap and repetitive. We were going to book again at the Pullman this April, but this experience made us shop around and we found a compatible hotel for $55 per night!

Extremely satisfied and grateful for our stay at the hotel. Staff are friendly, helpful and responsive to guest concerns. Special mention as to go to front desk staff and guest liaison officer ARYA. We experienced a rather sensitive issue.....which was dealt with in a timely and professionally manner. Arya was relentless in pursuing the best outcome for us!! He executed patience, concern and went over and above to make sure that our stay was nothing short of comfortable!! We are widely traveled as a couple and in all honesty have never experienced such outstanding service seen here at the Pullman. Passed this on to friends and family and will definitely be seeing more of us!! Here, the guest sare definitely made to feel important respected and valued! The Pullman is ideally located approximately mid-way to the shopping hubs of Kuta and Seminyak. It is across the road from the beach. The staff are wonderful - always smiling and happy to please. The food offerings are excellent: magnificent breakfast buffets and great theme night dinners. The Pullman needs an overall refresh especially for the bedrooms, but also some of the furnishings in the foyer.

Satisfied but not a five star experience

The staff were all very lovely, however we felt very strongly that there was a concern we weren't going to pay our bills. There was almost an awkwardness about bills and payments. I'd be more than happy to discuss this further. We upgraded to a one bedroom suite part way through our stay which provided us with more space, however one of the bathrooms in the new room smelled very strongly of sewerage to the point where we had to just keep the door closed and not use that bathroom. It was overwhelming. I also learned that the house keeping staff were washing our glassware and mugs in the bathroom sink - I saw this happen on day when I was still in the room. They just put the glassware/cups straight into the sink without even cleaning it first and proceeded to fill it up with warm water and no suds. We got quite sick during the last part of our stay and whilst I cannot prove it I do think that this method of washing up contributed to our illness. We were very careful about where we ate, what we ate, avoided ice outside the hotel and only drank bottled water. I would expect freshly cleaned glassware to be provided for every clean - striaght out of a hot dishwasher to avoid any contamination. If this is a usual hotel process I would advise reviewing it.

OK but some serious problems with the facilities

A poorly designed ground pool area with stagnant pools of water under the wooden decking making it a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes which were everywhere. This made sitting poolside a hazardous and unpleasant experience. We were all bitten constantly despite applying insect repellent. The first 2 days the water was so cloudy you couldn’t see your feet when standing in the pool. The Infinity pool area has limited shade which deterred us from spending much time there. Breakfast was great with a large choice of tasty food. The only problem was the last two days the coffee was putrid. As I love my coffee, for me to not drink it indicates how bad it was. Not sure if there was a problem with the coffee machine or more training is required. The newly renovated room we had was great although we didn’t get into it until 4.30pm. I wouldn’t be interested in staying agin unless the issue with the mosquitoes is rectified.

The light in the room was not bright, some mosquitoes quite disturbing at night, humid room, and the water doesn't flow good. A bit dissapointed but happy with the good location and the pool.
