Good location and nice staff, but management clearly is cutting corners

Great location and friendly staff, but it does look like management is cutting corners: the room wasn't ready on time (as they clearly didn't have enough housekeeping staff that day), the bathroom looks like it's made of plastic and they only provide disposable cups in the rooms. Nothing tragic but it doesn't really feel like a 4-star hotel.

Well located for our needs. Breakfast good. One comment is that the water temperature in the shower was inconsistent either cold or very hot.

Wry well located, good breakfast and friendly staff. but pretty small room and when I entered first time there was a small of humidity . After opening the window for a while it was ok. Overall good experience and I would recommend it

There was no hot water for the entire stay (2 nights). Despite staff being aware of the issue in advance of the weekend (they said it occurred Friday, but given there are reviews on Google with a much earlier date it's clear it is not a new problem) they did not even give an advance warning to guests. Rather, they had to wait for the constant flow of customers (me included) to the front desk to complain. If this were a small independent hotel with limited means, I would understand the constraints, but this is an Accor property. It's unacceptable. We were also 'controlled' at entry to the hotel after hours by someone who was not an employee (but acting on behalf of the night manager). In what world it is considered acceptable for a non-employee to ask for proof of stay of customers I do not know, but it certainly isn't this one. And then the night manager, when he chose to interest himself in us, had the tenacity to be argumentative. Absolutely appalling.

Mr P., Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I am very sorry for the disappointment you experienced during your stay in Lille. Our hotel had a general problem with its hot water network. The complexity of the technical intervention required to resolve the problem could not be carried out in-house. Our hotel therefore called in an external company to make the necessary adjustments to repair the network. The work was scheduled to be carried out before your arrival at the Braderie de Lille, but unfortunately, and through no fault of our own, the company was unable to come and carry out its work within the timeframe announced and was postponed. The problem has now been solved on site after several hours of checking and maintenance. We are aware that this will not alleviate your dissatisfaction and that the experience did not live up to your expectations, and we would like to offer you our sincerest apologies for this. I am sorry that the presence of drunken people outside the hotel prevented you from accessing the hotel but the behaviour of people outside the hotel is not our responsibility. As the Braderie de Lille is a fairly festive event, it is complicated for the police and the staff on site to intervene as best they can in all these situations. As for our rates during the Braderie de Lille, we were one of the most affordable hotels during this very busy period. For your information, all hotels in the same category or with the same brand could have been €100 to €300 more expensive. Finally, we hope that the discount on your stay will be able to alleviate this exceptional disappointment. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you come back to Lille, I will be able to take your disappointment into account and our establishment will offer you the best possible quality of service that our other customers like so much!
