We came to Novotel for a wedding (Claire Siegrist). From the moment we walked in the hotel doors we felt very welcome!!! The staff was friendly, the food service at breakfast and dinner was great. We would definitely stay here again. All the staff was great but I have to recognize Ahmed at the Front Desk. He was very engaging and friendly. Willing to help out any way that he could.

We stayed one night on our way to Belgium. We had a family room which was a perfect size for a short stay. The staff were all lovely and attentive. The room itself was fine, although the only negative and reasonable for 8 out of 10 is that the sofa bed was not great. It was so noisy my son had to abandon the bed and pop the mattress on the floor.

This hotel needs renovation. It's very dark. There are stain on the carpet. The food is so so at the restaurant. In the bathroom there was some horrible smell coming from the drain pipes ... I asked them to put bleach to clean up the drain and they never did. There was a flood in my room coming from upstairs in the middle of the night ... the only solution they proposed to me was to put the bath towel until the next day.

Thank you for your feedback. Our communal areas were renovated in 2022, with interior design created by professional architects — tastes may vary, of course. The bedrooms were refurbished in 2019 in accordance with NOVOTEL brand standards. At this stage, we do not have a confirmed date for the next renovation programme. Regarding the incident in your room, the flooding was caused by the air-conditioning system. When the outside temperature reaches 36°C, it is unfortunately not possible to maintain 20°C indoors without creating condensation issues. As for the odour coming from the drains, during periods of extreme heat and heatwaves, Lille’s brick-built sewer system can absorb and release unpleasant smells, which may affect several buildings across the city. Quiet room but mattresses were like sponges. Plug in bathroom sink did not work. Water in bath did not work; had to fill it with shower. Fan in toilet did not work. I’ve stayed in Novotels a lot but this was by far the worst, and most disappointing.
