The first night alone I killed 15 mosquitoes!! The room was very small, I believe the size advertised is including bathroom, toilet and I don’t know which other imaginary spaces.

Warm welcome, very willing to give advice eg where to eat that suited our preferences. Room was comfortable and quiet. I had a problem with the tightness of the shower dial in the morning and couldn’t turn it off. (Dropped a star for that, and phone to reception was dead). Had to leave the shower running and reception were quick to send someone up to sort it. For me that counts a lot. Breakfast was the usual buffet with a bit extra than some hotels. Sadly the vegetarian sausages (labelled as such) were not - they were pork. Fortunately this was not a major issue for me but had it mattered personally I would have been most upset (dropped another star). There was an apology …. And the label removed and I hope they give attention to this for future. Great location. 15-20 mins simple walk from Lille Europe and moments from the old part of the town and a pleasant walk to, and around, the fascinating Citidal (no access inside). But location is good for an evening or early morning run. I would look at this hotel again if staying in Lille , but only if the price was good in comparison to others

The hotel is right by the Grand Place (no one calls it Place Charles de Gaulle) so very convenient for the bars and restaurants there. And the Old Town isn't far away. It has great double (maybe triple?) glazing - there is a bar just across the road from the hotel and outside our room - and I barely heard a sound. The rooms are quite small - but clean and comfortable

Stayed in a Junior Suite which meant we had a spacious room with a sofa and a nice view of the square. Bed and climate was comfortable, decent shower. Nice feature to have a water fountain on every floor.

First time in Lille and this was a great central location for a first timer. The major attractions are all within walking distance. Numerous dining options within walking distance. It's also clise to Lille Flanders and Lille Europe if you're coming by train either on the Eurostar or local. A big thank you to the super friendly gentleman qho checked me in. You made me feel very welcome. Good wifi connection and strength. Room amenities were more than adequate and bed was comfortable. I read prebious reviews that the air con was not cold but i did not find that to be so. The air con was perfectly fine. I come from the tropics where we use the air con all the time and it was cold enough foe me. Thank you for a lovely stay. Will definitely return if I'm back in Lille.

I stayed for 3 nights and the location could not have been better. The breakfast was lovely and staff were so friendly. The room was reasonably small however the bed was very comfortable.

This hotel has a wonderful location. I was traveling on my own and it was a very safe location surrounded by beautiful streets and atmosphere. The reception staff were very kind and helpful especially Jeremy who helped me after a long days travel. The building itself is old but clean and my view was beautiful. Breakfsst was ok.. does the job.

Beautiful hotel, centrally located just a short walk to the central square. Ideal for rail travellers as it's near Lille Flanders station and Lille Europe. Lovely room on high floor with two balconies. Loved the windows and the spectacular view over Lille town hall and rooftops. Bathroom and room well equipped with tea and coffee facilities. Comfortable beds. Nice selection of hot and cold food at breakfast. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Will definitely stay again. Thank you so much.

Mercure Lille Centre Grand-Place has a nice location. Building is a lovely historic one, close to the Grand Place, which is convenient. Staff was friendly throughout. Rooms are rather small and hardware is as cheap as it gets. Rather no frills. Parts of the room were worn and shower and toilet need maintenance. Housekeeping was among the worst I had in a long time. Dirty towels (in shower) were simply thrown back on the shelf, no coffee replacement (it's cheap, instant coffee in the first place), bed was only "half made", as if the person got interrupted, carpet was filthy. I would not come back.

We are particularly concerned by your comments regarding the servicing of your room. Towels should of course be properly replaced, the bed carefully made and the in-room amenities replenished. The condition of the carpet you describe is equally disappointing. Your feedback has been shared with our housekeeping team so that these points can be addressed. We have also taken note of your comments regarding the condition and maintenance of some of the room and bathroom equipment. Having visited several times over the last few years high standards were expected and experienced. Friendly, efficient staff, lovely room with a view of the clock tower. Decorating could do with updating though the hotel was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was slightly disappointing in the quality of produce compared to previous years, and overcooked sausages.

Stayed at the Hotel Mecure Lille Centre Grand-Place for a short break with our disabled son. Hotel is about 15mins walk from the Eurostar station, it is in the centre of Lille everything was easy to walk to. We were in a Junior Suite on the 5th floor the room was air conditioned and roomy, the ensuite was spacious and well equipped. Plenty of towels and robes and slippers were provided. Great breakfast in the spacious breakfast room with a excellent choice of food and drink. The reception staff were really helpful and had good local knowledge. A lovely stay at a lovely hotel and city.

The hotel was rated as 4 star, and our room was identified as "privilege", but the quality of furniture was not even 3 star level. There was only one chair in the room for two people. One light bulb was burned out. It took two requests to replace it. The shampoo dispenser was empty. Replacing it took three requests. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, the location was ideal. The staff were also very service oriented and all of our interactions at the hotel were very congenial. We were also very pleased with the effort to reduce plastics and the provision of A. machine for natural and sparkling water, and A. carafe provided, was great.

Nous regrettons en revanche que certains aspects de votre chambre Privilège n’aient pas été à la hauteur de vos attentes. Plus particulièrement, vous n’auriez pas dû avoir à solliciter nos équipes à plusieurs reprises pour le remplacement de l’ampoule et le réassort du shampoing. Nous vous présentons nos excuses pour ce manque de réactivité. Merci pour ce retour à la fois positif et constructif. Stayed in Lille a few times for work, but this was the first time in this hotel and will definitely be coming back!
