Hotel staff very friendly and spoke English very well, unfortunately the rooms are very tired, bedding although smelt clean had a dirty look to them, the door to our room was getting stuck on the floor and was hard to open. Shower was good. Unfortunately outside at night there appeared to be ladies of the night that was extremely off putting to go out with my wife. Good location for food. Car park although the online booking said it was full there were about 15 spaces free and I couldn’t actually book online for the parking.

There was obviously something going on in Lille this week, because I could not get a room in my usual hotel at a reasonable price. So it was a matter of paying what I think of as my usual price to stay somewhere that would have been acceptable at its usual budget rate, ie half of what I paid. I suppose that is a consequence of "dynamic pricing". The only other comment is that including "Gares" in the name recalls the practice of some airlines of including the name of a major city in the name of an airstrip 100 miles away!

A lovely welcome. The room was very clean. I would have preferred to have some heating in the room, the weather in Lille was cold and wet and I was feeling cold in the room.
