Really enjoyed my stay. The premises are spotlessly clean and tidy. Modern, new and stylish, with very generous bedroom and bathroom space. Good quality breakfast with plenty of choice. My only minor issues were there is no milk available by the 24/7 free coffee & tea area for the entirety of my 3 night stay and the fridges in reception where you should be able to buy snacks, was broken so no food available after breakfast and until bar food could be ordered from 5pm.

Mixed feelings on my stay here.. staff at reception didn't appear or come across as terribly friendly and my room key was disabled earlier than check out time-I'd been in Switzerland for a workshop so was out for blocks of time but wasn't given the option to store my things in a separate place if they wanted the room back earlier than the given check out time (12pm). Rooms were clean and the breakfast options were good though. All in all not sure I'd recommend this place but I have no basis of comparison for other hotels in Basel.. if I returned I'd probably try elsewhere.

The early deactivation of your room key may have been caused by interference from electronic devices like phones, which can affect the magnetic strip. Unfortunately, this is not something the hotel has control over, but we're sorry for the frustration it caused. Also, we do have a luggage storage room for guests who need to store their belongings after check-out. Extremely disappointed this time. The staff here is extremely rude and does not have basic people skills. The staff seems to be trained not to treat its customers with basic manners. It’s funny that the receptionist insisted that I say hello to her as a greeting. I stayed here twice. But will never recommend this place neither will I ever stay here. As compared to the price it may be a good choice just only for its location. It’s quite centrally located.

This was my second stay at Ibis Styles Basel. I chose the hotel because it is quiet (a big deal for me), clean and within walking distance of the railway station. There is also a tram stop a short walk from the hotel if you are not inclined to walk to the station or centre. The airconditioning in the room worked fine unlike many hotels so the room didn't feel like a sauna. Breakfast was pretty standard and included in the room rate. The staff were friendly and no issues with check in or check out. I would definitely recommend the hotel.
