This was my second stay at Ibis Styles Basel. I chose the hotel because it is quiet (a big deal for me), clean and within walking distance of the railway station. There is also a tram stop a short walk from the hotel if you are not inclined to walk to the station or centre. The airconditioning in the room worked fine unlike many hotels so the room didn't feel like a sauna. Breakfast was pretty standard and included in the room rate. The staff were friendly and no issues with check in or check out. I would definitely recommend the hotel.

Very nice stay , the hotel is really nice, modern and well located. Rooms were very clean and modern and breakfast was really nice. We were given a free pass for the tram at reception which got us in the town centre in 10-15 mins, it was really easy. We will definitely visit again!

Poor experience - wouldn’t stay again

I am a light sleeper so asked for a quiet room on reservation. When I checked into my room I had been allocated a room right above train tracks which kept me awake most of the night. The following morning I asked to be moved - I was allocated a room just two doors down which still suffered from train disturbance. Therefore my subsequent two nights I also had poor sleep. The rooms have minimal facilities. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the lobby but of the four times I went to use them, only once was there any milk. The staff don’t monitor this and rarely replenish it. On my second evening I purchased a glass of wine at the bar to take up to my room - the bar person asked me to bring the glass back down when I had finished because the room cleaners don’t like having to sort it. Really?! All in all a pretty poor experience and nothing that would make me consider booking here or any other ibis Styles again.

Regarding the wine glass, as a three-star hotel, our services and amenities might differ from those of higher-rated establishments. Nonetheless, we aim to provide a welcoming environment and will work on improving this aspect of our service.
