We understand your point, but we would like to clarify that our sustainability efforts go well beyond simply reducing cleaning or water consumption. Our hotel is strongly committed to sustainability and is Green Key certified. And regarding the skip-cleaning programme specifically, it is not simply a way for us to reduce our costs or services. We have deliberately introduced a reward system for our guests: ALL Accor members who choose to skip their room cleaning receive reward points, which can then be used towards discounts on future stays. We also work with Too Good To Go to reduce food waste by offering surplus food instead of throwing it away. We actively sort and recycle waste and continuously work on reducing single-use plastic. For example, our room key cards are made of wood rather than plastic. Energy efficiency is another important part of our approach. Our building uses solar energy, and we use LED lighting throughout the hotel to reduce energy consumption. Guests can also choose not to have their towels changed every day, which helps us reduce water, energy and detergent consumption. We are genuinely committed to improving our environmental impact, and these initiatives are part of our daily operations. We had booked this hotel as it was not far from the train station as we had arrived via train and had a overnight stay before getting a flight out of the airport. The check in was easy and efficient. We had a nice room. A decent size and everything was working. A nice thing in Basel is the fact we got a Basel card which means we were able to use the public transport for free. The hotel was nice and quiet even though there is a busy road nearby. There is a bus stop just outside and trams not too far either so it's easy to get about.

Well located, close to the city center, the main railway station, and St. Jakobshalle. Everything is easily accessible on foot. Multiple breakfast options are available, and there is a nice bar with some dining choices. The rooms are clean, bright, and comfortable. Excellent stay.

This was pretty much as expected but some minor details were also so so with cleaning like paper cups being thrown away by cleaning but not replaced. The room also was missing a shoehorn not sure if that is part of the offer but there has been in other ibis styles I’ve stayed in.

It was a comfortable stay, reception and bar/lounge area was nice. Small rooms, but comfortable bed and bathroom. Breakfast had some allergy friendly food (bread/oatmilk), but buffet was based on a yogurt/topping & bread/topping. With milk and gluten allergy it was not much to choose from, I missed plant based yogurt and butter. I had higher expectation based on previous ratings on breakfast. Overall a nice stay.

My sleep was destroyed and no effort was made to explain what happened. A colleague tried to follow the fire escape route and got quite confused about how to get out.

That said, when it comes to a fire alarm, security must always take priority over comfort. Whether an alarm ultimately turns out to be a false alarm or not, it must be taken seriously and treated as a genuine emergency until it has been properly assessed. No fire alarm is ever activated with the intention of disturbing guests or interrupting their sleep. We do, however, take your comments about the fire escape route very seriously. Clear and intuitive evacuation signage and procedures are essential, and we will ensure that this feedback is addressed.
