I stayed here as a stop during a long drive South. Great carpark, spacious and clean. Good rooms, clean and comfortable with good towels. Bed mattress too soft and has the usual dents where people sleep, should be replaced by a harder mattress really. Extra sliding door to bathroom is useless, too close to the bed; bathroom had sewage smell from drains. Worst thing is the heating/cooling system; the rooms are much too stuffy and hot. Had to open the tiny window which didn’t help much. Also the hallways and breakfast room are far too hot, I looked for a seat as close to the open door as possible. I asked for poached eggs…and I got 1 single egg…what does an extra egg cost? I stayed here many times before but the above negative points will probably make me choose an alternative hotel next time. A petty because these points could be easily addressed.

My room was uncomfortably hot. The (central) airconditioning was not able to cool down the room to an acceptable temperature. Sleeping was very difficult. Otherwise, nice hotel in the center of Basel, with great parking lot; superior breakfast.

We started with the most welcoming receptionist. The location of the hotel is perfect: the tram stop is right outside. Many restaurants within a short walking distance. Grocery store next to the hotel. We had complementary water daily, and the coffee capsules were refilled. The garden in the hotel is perfect to relax in and calm place after visiting the city.

Booked at 10pm and checked in at 12am as we came into Basel late - front desk gentleman was super great. Helped with directing parking (our car was higher than 1.9m so the basement hotel parking wasn’t possible but concierge send us to one nearby Claramatte(?) 5 minutes walk away which was fine (overnight 10pm-7am was €1.50 per hour. Hotel was clean, bright modern decor. Wife was very very happy with bathroom lighting as other premium hotels we’ve been in the past had quite dark lighting so didn’t help for make up but Pullman Basel was rated best for her. Breakfast was simple and reasonably priced. Trams stopped directly outside and train stations nearby but we didn’t hear any noise (and we were on second floor). Overall great experience and sleep. Complimentary water and Nespresso.

Reception staff totally ignored our presence after numerous times wanting to be checked in and told the room was not ready, numerous other people were given rooms upon arrival. We had booked and paid about 6 months in advance. Totally unacceptable.

The other two front of house staff kept telling us what amenities weren’t available as they obviously hadn’t updated Hannah . The in house marketing blurb discussed the high tech green cooling system the hotel ran . It was as hot as Hades in the room and luckily housekeeping had an old fashioned electric fan which has helpful. Bookings should immediately delete all references to air conditioning from this hotel as it is non existent.
