I stayed at the Pullman Basel Europe for 5 nights in December 2025. I really wasn't planning to write a negative complaint but since I have been receieving numerous requests for feedback, I feel compelled to highlight the multiple failures during this business trip. First, my check-in was chaotic; the hotel lost my reservation, forcing my business colleague to rebook for me on the spot. Furthermore, despite being an Accor member, staff refused to acknowledge my membership or add the stay to my account. The room provided was in the "Residence," a separate building requiring an inconvenient route through the first floor and outside. The room conditions were unacceptable. There was no active air conditioning (staff claimed Swiss hotels do not allow it), making the room unbearably hot. Their solution was to provide a fan and suggest opening the window. As I was placed on the ground floor, leaving the window open was a major security risk I was not willing to take. Consequently, I had very poor sleep for the entire week. Finally, the lack of amenities is shocking for a business hotel. There was no iron or board in the room. Instead, I had to use a communal laundry room where the whole building shares a single iron. After giving up on the queue the first night, I had to wake up early just to iron a shirt for my meeting. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

We stay here for 3 nights in room 617 after disembarking a cruise. Room was large and very nice decor. Breakfast was included and many options available. I had an omelet cooked each morning as well Tram stop located outside hotel which is free for tourists and took us to the Christmas Markets which was the purpose of our stay. Supermarket also located very close to hotel which also had a pharmacy. Very walkable area. My only complaint was we disembarked our cruise a 9:30 on a Sunday morning. Check-in was not until 3:00pm. It was a wet day, no shops are open in Switzerland on a Sunday and Markets didn't open until 11:00. We spent most of our day in the foyer of the hotel waiting for our room to be ready. Room still wasn't ready at 3:30pm As this was a preferred hotel of Scenic/Emerald Cruises we thought we would have priority to access our room early. We spoke to management and although they were apologetic and offered a bottle of wine it still was upsetting. In hindsight If I had known better I would have booked the night before as well so we could have accessed our room as soon as we arrived, however at $570AUD per night this would be a large extra cost. We stay here again for the tram and central location.
