More like a hostel than hotel. Elevator was broken while we were there, had to wrangle our luggage down 3 flights of stairs (they did have someone bring up the stairs at check in). Pretty difficult when you have accessibility issues. Breakfast was great.

Needed last minute booking after flight was cancelled. Hotel provided shuttle bus (be careful- how from French exit not Swiss exit… I miss bus initially due to this) … hotel only 10 Minutes from airport but in an area with restaurants and coffee nearby. Friendly and helpful reception, who spoke English (unfortunately local version of French is very different to Parisian French.

the difficult point is that there are no taxi cabs from the station to the hotel. Tuesday evening I had to walk in the rain and wind for almost half an hour. When calling a cab, they are not interested by a short trip and they just don't show up.

I have stayed in this Ibis before as it is much cheaper than hotels in Basel city centre for the sake of a 20m tram or 8m train ride. Staff on reception were superb (didn’t get his name sorry, but he was running around doing many different things). My PROBLEM though was being told that, as an Accor Platinum member, I couldn’t have my free alcoholic drink on check in. I’D. had a long day and paid enough for the room - but why?? This is the first hotel where I’ve been so treated and to be honest, I probably won’t stay here again..

Comfy, quiet and dark room. Nice staff. Interesting neighbourhood location. Some great places to eat and supermarket across the road for last minute things. The free shuttle was brilliant. The driver was already waiting for us when we checked out at 4.30am. We even had early check in available at 11am.
