Check in was extremely slow. Was in a queue for check in with just 1 member of staff on reception. Took half an hour of waiting and then a chap pushed straight to the front and in a foreign language asked the lad in reception to check him in. The lad agreed, at which we had to complain and ask why would he let someone push straight to the front. The lad on reception just replied ‘I didn’t know’ . No apologies, and he didn’t even make the man wait after. He just continued to check him in. Not good customer service at all when travellers are very tired and patiently waiting to get checked in When we finally got to the room it was boiling hot and the air con wasn’t working and we were unable to open the window (I’m sure that must be a health and safety risk?) On asking at reception on how to open the window they said they only had 1 key to open all of the windows in all of the rooms in the whole hotel

Everything was great and good value for the price, except for the air conditioning. Staying at the hotel eventually comes down to how good we sleep in the night and unfortunately it was not great for us. Even keeping the air conditioning to minimum level, it become hot and we were unable to sleep. The windows cannot be opened either. But thanks to the staff who helped with opening the windows for sometime,.

Unfortunately, the city of Basel does not allow us to open the windows freely, which can understandably affect the comfort of our guests. We also regret to inform you that during the winter period, the heating system is centrally regulated for the entire building. This means that, to reduce the temperature in your room, the only option is to switch the heating off completely — something we know is not ideal and can be inconvenient. Please do not hesitate, during a future stay, to ask our reception team for a window handle. We will gladly provide one to help make your room more comfortable despite these restrictions. We sincerely appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve the quality of our services. We truly hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again under better conditions. I booked the accommodation as I failed to board the fully booked train to France, that was a frustrating day and I arrived with no expectation to go out or sightseeing and basically just very blue. However the lady with glass at the reception(it may be Karina I think)warmly welcome me and after knowing my experience, strongly suggest me to go explore the night of museum(what a coincidence) and printed me a trasportation card. It is such warm gesture and I was happy I listened to her suggestion and went out and set my miserable feelings aside.

Its good. It was clean and i had a good sleep. The breakfast should be better. From my POV you can increase the price for the breakfast, but make sure its good. Its how the people start into the day and it has a lasting impression on if this hotel is good or not. It does not have to be much, but putting a bit of quality and passion their could become a UAP among competitors.

Easy check in and check out. Nice room. Only minor things to improve would be the room was a bit hot even with thermostat right down and the towels are very small.

All our amenities, furnishings, toiletries, and equipment follow the standard of the ibis budget brand. Please note that our reception is open 24 hours a day, and we are always happy to provide additional towels upon request. Regarding the heating, our building uses a central system that automatically adjusts according to the outside temperature. Unfortunately, during the winter season, air conditioning is not available. To cool down the room, the heating must be completely switched off so that the temperature can decrease. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to serve you better in the near future.
