I stayed at this hotel for two nights during the June heatwave in Paris. Overall, my experience was positive, with a few important issues that I believe management should address. Starting with the positives, the location is excellent. The hotel is only about 20 minutes from the Louvre by metro, and the nearest metro station is literally a one minute walk from the entrance, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the city. I also appreciated being able to pay upon arrival rather than in advance, and having breakfast included in the rate was a nice bonus. The air conditioning worked very well, which was especially important during the heatwave, and my room was clean and well maintained. A special mention goes to the reception staff. I interacted with two or three different receptionists during my stay, and every one of them was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. They made a very positive impression and deserve recognition for their excellent customer service. The main issue, however, is security. Guests can access the stairwell leading to the rooms directly from the entrance without passing through reception or using a key card. I had read about this in previous reviews before my stay and assumed it would have been fixed by now because it is a serious security concern. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I saw that it was still the case. Before my first night, I asked the receptionist about it. He reassured me that someone is always present at reception and explained that if he ever needs to step away, for example to use the restroom, he locks the entrance door. While I appreciated his reassurance, I still believe this issue needs to be addressed properly as soon as possible. Guests should not be able to reach the room floors without some form of controlled access. Another disappointment was the lack of complimentary water in the room. Even a bottle or two would be a thoughtful gesture, especially during a heatwave. It is a small detail, but one that many guests appreciate. I also found it unusual that the room door did not have a peephole. While I did not personally need it during my stay, it is a standard feature in many hotels and contributes to guests’ sense of security. Finally, soundproofing was an issue. I stayed on the top floor, so fortunately I did not have anyone above me. However, whenever other guests opened or closed their room doors, the noise carried very clearly into my room, sometimes strongly enough that it felt like the walls were shaking. I could also hear conversations in the corridor, even when people were speaking quietly. As a sensitive sleeper, this affected my second night’s sleep significantly. Overall, the hotel offers great value thanks to its location, cleanliness, effective air conditioning, included breakfast, and excellent staff. However, the security concern regarding stairwell access is something that should be addressed urgently, and improvements to guest comfort would make a noticeable difference.
