Pity that this hotel is declining in terms of quality

Customer review rating 2.0/5

I have been visiting this hotel before covid a lot. I really see a decline in the maintenance of this hotel. I understand the limited services due to covid so here I do not have a problem with. What I do think is bad that maintenance is becoming poor. during my stay the Friday true Tuesday the 2 main elevators were broken. One could only be used for to top floor or -1 and -2.. the rest of buttons were not responding. the other elevator was stuck between floors. we had to use the other elevator to the 8th floor and then take the stairs to the 9th. Quality of the rooms is also deteriorating very low maintenance. Service by the people was friendly and thoughtfull so keep up the good work!

Very kind staff

The room air conditioner wasn’t very efficient. The bathroom had signs of mould. The parking entrance was very confusing.

The staff at the hotel were very accommodating and welcoming. My flight to Paris arrived early morning so they were able to provide an early check in for me around 10 - 11 am. I was very pleased. Initially I was offered a suite for persons with accessibility needs. I didn't like the washroom as there were no barriers between the shower and toilet. It was very uncomfortable to look at so the staff provided another room. This one was much better. However, there was construction noise and it was loud. Also, this area is busy so there was constant noises coming from outside. I prefer to have the window open a bit for air. I had to close it as the noise from outside was too loud for me constant ambulance and siren noises. On a positive note, this area was perfect for my needs. It had close café spots restaurants and shops and people of interest near by. It was a safe to stay as well. I had a pleasant stay. I can't complain.

Good basic, modern hotel with friendly and thoughtful staff that was well located for our needs.

I took two rooms: one for my wife and I; one for my elderly mother. The staff were thoughtful and ensured our rooms were close to each other. We used the hotel as a base for our weekend visit to family in the 19eme. It worked very well.

Close to the Philharmonie.

Very helpful, and friendly, staff. Close to the Philharmonie, where I went to a couple of concerts over the weekend, so not far to get to. Bed was incredibly comfortable.

very well located

We had a lovely stay in this hotel. Comfortable beds, the room was kept clean and fresh towels daily. A little short on products, particularly milk for making tea, but this was minor. Helpful staff with excellent language skills. Fabulous breakfast. Very well placed for getting around Paris and to the airports and could not be closer to the spectacular Philharmonie. Lots of choice very nearby for eating out.

Good location, nice hotel

Very handy for access to La Villette park and the Cité des Sciences, a nice area (although Paris remains Paris, and the streets around the hotel are far from clean). Very welcoming staff, and a nice, functional room. The beds were a little hard for my personal taste, but the rest of the family slept fine.

Great position for Music venues.

Our one night stay in central Paris went very well. Romms very clean and well prepared with tea, coffee etc and water. This always pleases me as I have medication to take every morning. Breakfast was good, had ham and eggs and some strong coffee. Overall totally satisfied with our stay.

Great staff but facilities are old and tired. Hotel in need of maintenance

Bed bugs - but one amazing employee

My first night was disgusting- there turned out to be bed bugs in the first room of which I have pictures of & pictures of bite marks to prove it. The hotel has accused me of lying. There was one very nice man who worked the night shift that helped me locate my phone when I thought it was stolen in the hotel (it was not, I was mistaken) and he was most amazing at understanding how scared and anxious I was for visiting another country for the first time when I do not speak the language (French). Other than that- this hotel was mediocre at best, definitely not a 4 star. In America, we would give this 2.5 stars.

Restful stay

Room was great, bed was great. AC working on summer days. Clean, decent. Only problem, cold water pressure was really low, so you could only use the shower with very low flow of water. Good for the environment but annoying.

Very convenient location and friendly service

I must say that it is because this hotel is at walking distance from my son’s flat and the personal is very kind and helpful that I will keep in using it. In contrast , The maintenance of the place is very poor and not to Mercure’s standard which I “tolerate” for now because of COVID…

Good Stay during Lockdown

sailgirl Business - 04/12/2020 TripAdvisor review

For anyone with business at the Philharmonie de Paris or anywhere in that vicinity, this hotel is your best bet. Also, being located just a few steps from the Metro you could be in the center of the city and all its sights and attractions quite easily and inexpensively in about 15 minutes. The room I had - upgraded to a suite - was huge, well appointed and thankfully with many electrical outlets available for charging various devices. Wifi was free, fast and reliable. Shower was good with decent water pressure and ample hot water. Due to covid restrictions and measures, service was limited - no daily housekeeping - but fresh towels were provided upon request and for longer stays, we were offered the option of switching to a clean room mid-week. Breakfast was brought to the room by pre-arranged time and though simple - yogurt, fruit, croissant, cheese, fruit and coffee - it was filling enough. Traveling to Paris for business during a stringent lockdown was made as seamless as possible by the friendly and extremely helpful staff.

I stayed here for 6 nights. Staff was nice and accommodating during these unprecedented times. I was given a bigger family room despite the fact that there was only one room type available (classic). Since room could not be cleaned due to Covid, I was offered a new room halfway through my stay.

Dated hotel

Stayed here as did about 13 years ago, well located. But hotel has deteriorated in that time. Stuffing coming out of chair in lobby greeted us, shabby rooms with limescale ridden toilets. No soap in one room and had to use shampoo.

Room was big, arrived early and the room was available so we could drop off our backs which was nice. When checking out, we were able to leave the bags behind the desk and go out for the day. This was very handy. The only disappointing bit was there was no wifi for the weekend.

a little bit out of the centre but ok for the Philarmonie and the Touthankamon expo. Therefore the hotel was full of Asian tourists and students, making a very noisy hall and disturbing the lifts. Staff is friendly and pro.
