Room not ready after 2pm, advised reception we will wait in the bar & order a drink while we wait. F&B attendant wanted to charge for 3 soda waters, after explaining we are waiting for the room to be ready as it’s delayed & I was surprised they were going to charge me, eventually I encouraged her to chat to reception who agreed to offer complimentary. Room great, went into Exec lounge which is inadequate for a Pullman. Why no canapés, wine, beer etc? Later went down to pool area to order food & drinks. Food (fries) took 1 hour, after following up the staff advised the kitchen forgot but she would send her manager out who will offer a round of drinks to say sorry. No manager attended, so went in to order another round, Manager said he could only do 2 drinks. Beautiful hotel, but F&B service was robotic, lacked leadership & a did not have a guest-first service culture. Left before breakfast service but the Duty Manager was kind enough to get a box of pastries for the kids to takeaway. Charged for parking despite already paying at the gate + sent an incorrect tax invoice which I’m still awaiting a reply on. Not worth the $$$ and would try Ibis next time given the service issues.

We had a short but pleasant stay. The staff were extremely accommodating allowing us to check in early and ensuring we made the most of what the hotel had to offer. We left the hotel early for the airport, which was a conveniently located 10 minute walk away, to find we had left something behind in the room. We rang the hotel, the staff located the item and met us half way back from the airport to help ensure we didn’t miss our flight. It was a refreshing experience of good quality customer service.

After 3 international flights over 30+ hours, I called the reception to ask for directions from the Brisbane Airport International Terminal. The person who answered the phone, instead of telling me they weren't sure, gave me wrong directions which resulted in walking around for 20 minutes in the wrong direction. When it became clear that the directions were wrong, I was advised they would ask their colleagues and put me on hold. I was then told to ask around the airport as they weren't sure of the directions. Not the service I was expecting of a 5* hotel. Very old furnishings, old carpets and old bed throw.

We checked in close to midnight following an international flight. The check-in process was smooth, and our room, located opposite the business centre, was comfortable. Unfortunately, our stay was not restful due to repeated loud banging of doors from very early in the morning. We are unsure whether this was related to activity in the business centre, which we were advised at check-in was open 24 hours. The ongoing noise significantly disrupted our sleep, particularly after such a late arrival and a long international journey. As a result, we decided to check out earlier than planned. We did raise our concerns with staff when checking out and wanted to share this feedback, as the level of noise had a considerable impact on our overall experience. While we acknowledge and appreciate the apology provided, we feel that accommodation of this standard should offer guests a reasonable expectation of comfort and uninterrupted rest. Unfortunately, our experience fell well below that expectation.
