Poor experience with reception / Refurbed hotel

As a loyal platinum Le Accor I was exceptionally disappointed with the level of service from the front of house who was on reception, which was a unnecessarily difficult experience. I checked in at around 1800 and the young lady I spoke with was simply disinterested. I provided my Le Accor membership details and was told in a very sharp and direct manner that I was not "entitled" to my points but would receive all upgrades / welcome drinks per my membership level - hold that thought. I was informed that as my company had the temerity to book directly which prevents my loyalty being respected - worth saying for 2 nights it was c£400 thanks to London Fashion week so cannot understand why I would not receive my points. There is a clear and present need for training for reception desk as my experience become even worse. When I asked for a quiet room facing away from the busy main road it was as if I had asked for a penthouse upgrade. I was also informed that I did not have breakfast or an allowance despite showing confirmation. Eventually I was advised the room would be 2-22 and the card was presented to me with 22 on it. Have to say the best thing about the stay was the natty wooden pass card very eco friendly. After going to the second floor and following signs for rooms to 223 I could not find a room 222. After a five minute walk up and down the hall I decided I had no option but to go and speak to the ever helpful young lady on reception. Despite the glaring response my card was inspected and then furnished with a 1 at the end and I was informed my room was actually 221 pronounced 22-1!!!! Really unacceptable. This is the longest report I have ever had to write on an experience with reception which I would suggest highlights my disappointment with the service. So onto the hotel which looks recently refurbed in a movie theme- clean carpets and funky wording does not make up for the shocking service. Room could have been cleaner with used shampoo bottle and nail clipping in bathroom with towels less than fresh. Adequate power points for an over night stay and bed was relatively comfortable. Shower was adequate adequate although step from base is a bit of trip hazard. Hotel is located 1/2 mile on Uxbridge Road from the busy Ealing Broadway across from the Uni. London campus. Overall expensive for what it was with no breakfast/dinner or welcome drink (?) - albeit London Fashion week would drive the rack rates with service that should be improved. Thinking of submitting formal complaint as paying guests should receive reasonable service

eltai1958 Couples - TripAdvisor review

We arrived to be greeted by very polite and helpfull staff especially Tanya who had taken her time to check us in and to take out our 6 luggages from the security store room which my son brought the luggages in earlier before we arrived. Tanya was so happened to be at work on the day when we checked out and we needed to store luggages for a few hours and Tanya gave us the reference baggage tags and move our extremely heavy luggages in the store room. In short she is very presentable and has a friendly appearance personality. The room service is top class , nice clean room, and quiet resting place. The chambermaid by the name of Eveteling Mancheva is an extremely hardworking and enthusiastic individual. The air conditioning is working superbly especially during this summer heatwave. In one bad point is your shower room, no sliding door hence when we showered, water is splashed out making the whole floor wet. Another thing is there is no shower tray for us to put our toiletries stuff. A short stroll to Ealing tube station, super fast transportation to the city using the Elizabeth line and lots of restaurants nearby.. Had a lovely stay at your hotel and we will come back.
