Dinner buffet was awful. Not clean at all. Dirty Bedroom with blinking and burned out lamps, hot water wasn’t working, On the other side, the breakfast buffet was awesome but I could see that there was some Accor visits there.

The check in staff was horrible, took hours to get us the rooms, treated us like dirt. Rooms were a mess. Nothing was right with the hotel.

We chose this hotel as it was close to the cruise port. Of course being in Carnaval time, it was no real advantage due to closed roads, but that is not the fault of the hotel. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable and we slept well. And the shower pressure was good. However: the design of the bathroom is poor. The toilet door should not be able to be pushed open : either remove the door or have it only open outwards. My husband also had a fall coming out of the bathroom due to the wet floor. The towels were insufficient to avoid that. There was a kettle in our room, but no cups or coffee, only a couple of herbal tea bags and sugar sachets. We did not request coffee or cups, but they should have been there. Despite the sign on the wall, powered adapters were not easy to get, nor could we keep them more than two hours without a fee. We have universal adapters, but Brazil is clearly very special and the power adapters do not cover it. I went to reception and the very helpful Michelle told us there was only one power adapter available and that another guest had held it longer than his assigned time. These days everything requires power: phones, iPads and watches plus other appliances and without power it becomes difficult to get around. Michelle finally found another adapter and I had fill out a form and make sure to return it within two hours (which I did). The next day I approached reception to ask for the adapter again. The staff on duty were very rude and unhelpful. They could not advise when I might be able to get an adapter and knew nothing about who might have one. I went back down at 10 am intending to speak to the manager and one of the staff came back to me with two adapters (different to the previous night). One did not fit but we used the other - no form to fill out this time! This whole experience was very poor and certainly not expected in a city hotel. Please do better to provide more adapters (I do understand that some people steal them) and a process for signing them out. This wouldn’t cost much! There was also a misunderstanding about our room account. We paid up front for our room but there was no hold placed for expenses. So we had to separately sort out a hold so we could charge our room for drinks and dinner. Food in the restaurant for dinner was quite ordinary, as was the buffet breakfast. I would rate the food as 7/10 and the service 8/10.
