Everything about our 4 day stay was first class -perfect and chosen for its ideal location for sightseeing restaurants shopping and it’s a - handsome building— From initial contact there was excellent communication from the reception prior to arrival -including arranging transport from airport - friendly reception staff - well equipped and extremely comfortable and clean bedrooms with luxury products - delicious and wide choice on offer for breakfast - with exceptional quality croissants - relaxing bar area for a night cap ibut perhaps what makes this hotel stand out as superb is the staff - they have a real team culture and work together to create a friendly helpful and relaxing stay for guests .- we will be back and will recommend to anyone staying in Oaris . The hotel is well located close to the Metro, yet it is quiet. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable.

My partner and I stayed at l'Echiquier for almost two weeks, and absolutely loved it. We arrived on my birthday, and just after our arrival, the doorbell (yes, there is a doorbell) rang; one of the staff came with a lovely card, a bag full of little beauty products, and a few other things. We had the breakfast every morning and got to know the staff; Philippe and Ali took care of us. They got to know what we wanted to drink, and always had a good word for us. The food was plentiful and very good. We missed tea time, but had drinks and dinner in the restaurant a couple of times. I loved the location, the hotel is on a quiet street, but right off a busy avenue, and the metro stop was a 5 minute walk away with two lines that made travel within the city very easy. What we loved were the little touches: the gorgeous restaurant, the man who refilled our little fridge with water every day, the other man who made sure that we had refills for the coffee machine, which we used every morning. There were also robes and slippers in the closet. We plan to visit Paris again very soon, and will definitely choose to stay at the Echiquier. I consider Paris my second home; now I have a true second home.

I am trying to come up with something positive to say but drawing a blank after an extremely disappointing stay at the Hotel L’Echiquier. The location lacks charm, the rooms are tiny (we couldn’t believe our room was called a junior suite given how small it was), breakfast was sad and service, especially the person who checked us in and out, terrible…but oh wait they have Clarins bath products so that must justify all the negatives. We booked a room last minute to accommodate our early arrival to Paris because our other accommodation was not available. We had stayed at multiple Accor properties before and have always found them great so Hotel L’Echiquier seemed like a good option. But the disappointment started as soon as we stepped in…I asked Yoann, the receptionist, if someone could help my husband with the luggage — we were traveling with a lot of suitcases and a baby so an extra hand would have been helpful and his answer was a flat no…a first for me having stayed at hundreds of hotels with incredibly helpful staff. And this attitude continued - can I get an early check in? No, only if you pay…but I have Accor status that says I am eligible …no rooms available (ok so rooms are available if I pay but not otherwise). Is there a place I can change my baby’s diaper — no; where do people generally change diapers? I don’t know, in France people don’t stay in hotels with babies….and the list goes on and on. I give this hotel a hard pass!
