Staff were amicable and attentive for guests’ needs. Facilities-wise, the room was very small (I had to maneuver my luggage to make it fit while avoiding damaging it),, as expected for Parisian standards, so no surprises there. One constructive criticism is the bathroom: the water pressure is very low for the toilet and the shower doors don’t close fully causing water to flood on the floor and damaging it if the guest is not conscientious to dry it up. Beyond that, supermarkets are close by if the guest wants to save some money from outside dining, and there are also a couple of nice restaurants, cafes and bakeries all within walking distance. Subway stations are also nearby.

Check in was smooth and the front desk staff were very polite. HOWEVER, given my early start to travel to Paris, I needed to take a nap after check-in before I went out in the evening. At around 15:30, a woman opened the door to the room, realised there was someone in there and apologised and swiftly left. Woken up by this, I was very annoyed but I got out of bed to check the lock on the door. Just as I was heading back to the bed, a man opened the door without knocking and I was standing there in my underwear. He also apologised and quickly closed the door. Not only did it ruin my sleep, I felt incredibly unsafe as a solo female traveller that anyone, whether man or woman, could just enter the room even after I've locked the door from the inside but also, without knocking (also placed my suitcase handle under the handle of the door to create some sort of resistance). I don't understand why they were even entering the room at that time - I had just checked in, so it should have been clear to cleaning staff (if it was them) that this room did not need to be cleaned and therefore there was absolutely no need to enter. It also sounded like they were going to room to room and just going in. I also don't understand why there was no knock even if there was a legitimate reason for entering the room at that time. It is very unprofessional to just open doors to hotel rooms without even knocking first. Honestly, I was upset at the time but typing it out has angered me even more and should not happen in any hotel.
