Hotel is well located and was generally clean. The desk staff are friendly enough and spoke English which was helpful. The room was great apart from two things. First minor issue was that the shower head was not cleaned properly. This was obvious due to the heavy build up of scale on the nozzles. I'm aware this can happen when you have high scale in water, but it only takes two minutes to clean. The main significant problem was the syphoning of sewer gas from the foul drain though the toilet. Every morning or upon return at night there would be a horrible strong stench of sewage odour. This either means that outside stack is blocked, or that the toilet was not installed correctly. A futher comment is that the metro is audible within the room, but this wasn't a significant concern for us.

Comfortable stay, good breakfast Room was very dark so could be a bit depressing if staying for longer than 1 night. Underground train noise very obvious as our room was on the first floor, but tge trains don't run all night long.

Stayed to catch early Eurostar train from gare du Nord and it was perfectly situated. The staff were very helpful and pleasant.
