Inconsistent response from reception. No communication as different reception wouldnt not agree with the their colleagues: happened 3 times. Air con didn't work. Room cards don't work despite replaced 4times. Charge 3 euro for shaver kit. The welcome drink voucher didn't load up but the reception didn't want to help. Rooms not clean. Not enough plates prepared for the breakfast buffers and plates had food stains.

We were in Paris during the heat wave, and even though we do understand that those are not “normal” Paris conditions, the hotel was definitely not prepared for it. I was lucky enough to have A. room where the air conditioner was working but my parents didn’t have the same luck. The room was so hot, they woke up all sweaty everyday. On our last day my dad complained and the receptionist replied that they were going to try to find A. portable ac to bring to them. Never heard from them again. The breakfast is ok but the space becomes A. bit small when everyone is trying to get something to eat. It’s quite weird that there’s not any kind of uniform for the staff, at least A. t-shirt or something, otherwise they end up looking like guests. The hotel is definitely pricy for its quality but that seems to be A. Paris-problem.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent stay at ibis Styles Paris Gare de l’Est Château Landon and to formally request your assistance in investigating several serious incidents that occurred during my stay. I checked in on 24 June 2026 for a two-night stay and checked out on 26 June 2026. My friend and I stayed in Room 425. First of all, I would like to mention that I appreciated the hotel’s convenient location next to the metro station. I also appreciated being allowed to check in early for an additional fee of only €15, which was very helpful. However, there were several issues that significantly affected our experience. During our stay, the air conditioning in our room was not cooling properly. Although the room was extremely warm, I understood that Paris was experiencing unusually hot weather and assumed the air conditioning system was under heavy demand. Therefore, I chose not to make a complaint or request a room change. On the evening of 25 June at approximately 10:00 p.m., I asked the female receptionist to arrange a taxi for our airport transfer on 26 June, with pickup scheduled for 4:20 a.m. I also politely asked about the estimated fare. However, she replied that she did not know the price and that I would have to ask the taxi driver myself. Her attitude suggested that she was unhappy with my question, so I did not feel comfortable asking any further. She then confirmed that the booking had been made. On 26 June at approximately 4:10 a.m., while taking the elevator down to meet the taxi, the right-side elevator malfunctioned. It suddenly shook, became stuck, and unexpectedly travelled up to the 8th floor without us pressing any buttons. We pressed the emergency assistance button twice, but nobody responded. We then shouted for help, after which the elevator eventually returned to the 4th floor. We tried pressing the Ground Floor button again, and fortunately the elevator finally opened. Immediately after leaving the elevator, I informed the receptionist that the right-side elevator had malfunctioned and that no one had answered the emergency assistance button despite us pressing it twice. Considering this was an emergency situation, I find the lack of response extremely concerning. At that moment, the driver was already waiting inside the hotel. He confirmed with us that we were guests from Room 425, which gave us confidence that he had been arranged by the hotel. We confirmed that we were indeed from Room 425, and he stated that he was our driver. However, as we approached the vehicle, I became suspicious because the car displayed no taxi sign. For my own safety, I took a photograph of the vehicle’s registration plate, which I have attached to this email. After entering the vehicle, I also noticed that there was no taxi meter. Although I felt uncomfortable, I trusted that a reputable hotel such as yours would not arrange an unauthorised or fraudulent driver. As two female travellers alone in a foreign country at approximately 4:20 a.m., we were concerned for our personal safety and did not feel that we were in a position to question the driver. Partway through the journey, the driver demanded a fixed fare of €70. From my understanding, the official fixed fare between central Paris and the airport should generally not exceed approximately €50. Nevertheless, due to concerns for our safety, we did not argue and paid the requested €70. I am extremely disappointed by this experience. What concerns me most is not only the amount charged but also the serious safety issues involved, including: The malfunctioning elevator and the complete lack of response to the emergency assistance button. The receptionist’s unprofessional attitude. The possibility that an unauthorised or illegally operating driver was arranged through the hotel. Being placed in a situation where two female guests felt unsafe and unable to question the driver. As I am considering taking legal action against both the driver and the receptionist involved, I respectfully request your full cooperation with this matter. Specifically, I would appreciate if you could: Confirm the identity and full name of the receptionist who was on duty at approximately 10:00 p.m. on 25 June 2026. Confirm how the airport transfer was booked and through which taxi company or transport provider. Provide the name and contact details of the transport company, together with any booking records relating to our airport transfer. Confirm whether CCTV footage covering the reception area and hotel entrance during the relevant times has been preserved. Confirm whether the elevator malfunction has been recorded and investigated. I hope the hotel will treat this matter seriously and conduct a thorough internal investigation. I would appreciate your response at your earliest convenience.
