Our room was lovely, calm, peaceful and cool in the midst of a severe heat wave. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, the pillows were great and the shower very big and lovely. We had a small kitchenette which was very well-equipped and even a washing machine. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent, varied and eggs cooked to order. The location was perfect, on the edge of the old town, but not in the middle of all the noise. But the stand out at the hotel was the staff. They were extremely helpful, and always trying to make our stay better. They always smiled and said hello, including the house maids and porters. Everyone was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them. When we had to walk to the end of the street to catch our taxi on the last day (street closure due to a market), one of the staff members came outside and showed us where to go.

The Hotel could not have been more welcoming to us and our small pug, Marco Polo, whom they treated as a Guest of Honor. The place is at once relaxed and elegant, perfectly situated for visiting the old city. The air conditioning was a life saver during the brutal heat wave. Breakfasts are sumptuous; the restaurant is very good indeed. We hadnt intended to stay as long as we did (a week!) but last-minute changes to our itinerary made it necessary and delightful. Grand merci to all who made our stay so lovely.

Excellent front desk, bar and restaurant staff. Helpful at all times. Valet parking service was also very useful, prompt and good. Good buffet breakfast with hot options to order. The restaurant in the evening was less good. Rather pretentious in a modern style but the cooking did not match the level expected for the price or extensive descriptions. Nice ideas - poor delivery. We stayed in an apartment room. Clean and well fitted out, although more hanging space and coat hangers would have been useful. Also not enough hanging space for wet towels.
