Balthazar in Rennes is charming and well located with friendly staff and a great restaurant. We did a couples massage at the spa, which was very good … and while the relaxation pool looked amazing, we ran out of time before visiting it. We would absolutely look forward to coming back!

Really well located in a lovely area of Rennes city centre, close to restaurants, shops, cafés, bars, public transport. Lovely friendly and professional staff and a beautiful room with small Balcony overlooking the city. Very comfortable room with excellent amenities. Bar and restaurant were great.

Overall, I enjoyed this stay. In the beginning some of the staff is standoffish and snooty. I could not figure out why, but they did not make me feel completely welcome. My husband had the same experience when he went three weeks earlier. I think maybe just a warmer approach would be helpful. Some of the staff at the bar and bartenders were very friendly. I think it is mostly the front desk staff that made me feel a bit uncomfortable.
