Tonight's day in the pulsing heartbeat of Rennes nightlife and convention/exhibition space. The room, restaurant, and pool were decorated in a very photographable style and just very unique. The staff is young, hip, very friendly, and helpful.

I genuinely loved so much about this hotel—the ambiance is fantastic, the decor is fun and thoughtfully done, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. It’s a place I wanted to love. However, the experience fell apart in a very basic and frustrating way. After an eight-hour train journey, I checked in, went to take a shower, and realized there was no conditioner—at all. Not in the room, not available upon request, nothing. I understand the environmental rationale that is often given, but at a certain point, it feels less like sustainability and more like a lack of consideration for guests. Hair care is not a luxury—it’s a basic expectation for many travelers. Being told (implicitly or explicitly) to go out and buy a full bottle after a long travel day is simply not reasonable. What makes this more disappointing is that it reflects a gap in thinking about who the customer is. Many guests—especially women or anyone with longer or textured hair—rely on conditioner as a standard amenity. Not providing it, and not even offering it at the front desk, sends a message about whose comfort is being prioritized. It’s frustrating because the hotel gets so many things right. But this is a fundamental miss. Unfortunately, it’s enough that I wouldn’t return, because comfort during travel includes the basics—and this didn’t meet that standard.
