Booked hotel as it has air conditioning, however the cool air did not circulate to the top bedroom in the duplex room. Hotel needs some care and updating. Very few room amenities. Mercure in Cherbourg is far superior and was the same price.

Stay of 6 nights early July 2026 during heat wave, with my wife and 2 year-old toddler. We had a suite; it was well appointed, clean and kept clean, very well air-conditioned, Wonderfull firm mattress, very clean spacious bathroom with tub, separate WC, facing calm side street. A well padded clean crib was provided for our toddler. Large screen TV. Used the indoor pool with our toddler, the water was well heated, clean, very relaxing. They have a hamam and jacuzzi which we did not use due to the heat wave.The spa and pool were clean and inviting. Friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel from the reception to the restaurant and the spa. Great location for our trip since we arrived and left by TGV, just 2 minute walk from the hotel. We used our location in Rennes as "base", doing day-trips in a radius of about 1-1.5 hour drive to multiple venues/cities in Bretagne (we rented a car at the SNCF station and used the Novotel parking). Breakfast options are bountiful. One of my best hotel experiences in France.

First time in Rennes, the Novotel was perfect. Great location with free parking in the middle of town, everything was walkable. Lovely room, very spacious with a fantastic bathroom and exceptionally clean. The staff were uniformly welcoming, friendly and professional. I made a mistake with the booking and they resolved it without question. There was a problem with a drink on the first night and the barman went out of his way to ensure a smooth resolution. When we come back to Rennes - it's a great city and needs more than two days - we will absolutely be back at the Novotel. Can't fault it. Thanks to all the lovely staff who made our stay.
