I was extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel, especially because it is presented as a five-star property. Unfortunately, the experience I had was far below what I would reasonably expect from a hotel of this category. What disappointed me the most was that I encountered basic problems that I would expect to see in a much lower-category hotel, not in a five-star property. The sink drain in the bathroom was clogged, making it difficult to use the sink properly. The shower was another major problem: the water came out in different directions, hitting the walls and the surrounding area rather than falling properly on the person taking the shower. At one point, I actually had to take a towel and clean the shower myself, simply to see if removing whatever was obstructing the water would make it flow more appropriately toward me instead of all over the walls. I found myself doing something that should obviously be part of the hotel’s housekeeping and maintenance routine. The bed was also very uncomfortable and appeared to have a structural problem. It felt as though the foot of the bed was significantly higher than the head, which made it extremely uncomfortable to sleep. This is not something I would ever expect to encounter in a five-star hotel. To make matters worse, the glass table in the room was visibly greasy and dirty. This gave me the impression that the room had not been properly inspected or cleaned before my arrival. None of these issues, individually or collectively, are compatible with the standards I associate with a five-star hotel. I understand that occasional problems can happen anywhere, but what is particularly frustrating is that these were all very basic issues that should have been identified and corrected during routine housekeeping and maintenance inspections. I chose this hotel expecting a level of comfort, cleanliness, maintenance, and attention to detail consistent with its five-star rating. Instead, I was left feeling that I had paid for a premium experience while receiving the same type of basic problems one might encounter at a much lower-level hotel. I am expressing this respectfully, but I want to make it clear that I was genuinely dissatisfied and disappointed with my stay. A five-star hotel should not require its guests to unclog or clean a shower themselves, sleep on a bed that appears to be improperly positioned, or deal with a greasy table and a clogged sink. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously. These are not issues that should be overlooked, particularly in a hotel that charges five-star prices and promotes itself as a luxury property. I expected considerably more, and unfortunately, the experience did not come close to meeting those expectations.
