Very poor price and quality ratio AND very impolite service towards Accor ALL Customers, feeling UNWELCOME

As a long Loyal Customer of the Accor Hotel Group I must say that we are highly disappointed about the behaviour fo the staff at IBIS Styles Reims Centre Cathédrale. The hotel seemed to be saving in all possible matters starting from the rooms - this was the very first IBIS where there was not even a single power socket in the bath room. The front desk officer claiming to be responsible for the hotel during the holiday of her superior was really impolite towards us. We were wondering to the officer why they are offering only ONE welcome drink related to the ALL Accor Card holder despite that the room had TWO customers. One is welcome and the other is NOT WELCOME. Is it really worth of saving extremenly little money and giving very very bad feeling for the loyal customer. We think that IBIS Reims and it's staff is UNWELCOMING the loyal customers. The front desk officer even laughded to us when discussing about the matter, which is extremely impolite. The worst was that the woman at the desk was lying to us stating very strictly that NOT A SINGLE ACCOR HOTEL IN THE WHOLE FRANCE provides the welcome drink to both customers at the same room as the Loyal Card Holder is. That is of course a lie, because we have stayed in many Accor hotels in France and also on trip the procedure was the normal - one welcome drink for both Loyal customers. As staff Member I would really consider how could I ever fix the major failures and the very disrecpectful behavior towards the Loyal customer. This kind of disrespectful attitude really makes loyal customers angry and makes us really to think why should we ever even continut to use Accor hotels. This kind of impolite behaviour, lying and saving very little in totally wrong issues really makes us Loyal Customers extremely disappointed. The hotel was furious about the COVID-19 unlike all the other Accor hotels we stayed in France in July. The breakfast was orgnized in a very redicilous way - it's so funny to say that it is because of the safety of customers. It seemed to be aiming to save as much money as possible. Mayby the pleasure of controlling the customers was also the motivation considering the overall attitude of the staff?

We arrived at 11pm in the evening. We asked if it was too late for a quick drink at the bar.. the man said yes it was too late and that he had had a busy day. We were disappointed as there were still people at the bar and had been travelling for a few hours. We went next door to the Mercure. When we returned less than an hour later there were still people drinking in the ibis at the bar. We were a little confused. We use ibis every year but will be trying Mercure next year for sure.

Staff were friendly and attentive, but the hotel is looking a bit tired - could do with a bit of a refurb. Be warned that the hotel is close to a busy road and sports stadium, so can get a bit noisy when a match is on.

Decent enough room, first time we’d seen a sofa bunk bed! Breakfast was pretty good for a 3* hotel and served until decent weekend hours. Only complaint was the shower was only just about warm enough. Parking in the public parking just next door was a lot cheaper than the hotel, if you don’t need locked parking.

Lovely stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast options were great and staff were friendly. Some confusion with parking options available but sorted out and parking was secure and a reasonable rate. Good location for exploring the area on foot.

Confusion about payment of rooms

On check-in, Viki Stapleton who had pre-paid for the rooms was told that the system showed that the rooms had not been paid for and was asked to pay again. The rooms had been booked and paid for on 24 June. The assistant could not help and said the computer said that the payment need to be made. On the following morning Viki spoke to another assistant, who could see the confirmation email that Viki had showing that no payment was required but because their system was showing the rooms needed paying, they could not understand what had happened. In the end, Viki had to send the email to the assistant plus screenshots of her Accor account pages showing that the booking had been made in June and paid for. It was not a great experience
